Cincinnati Music Theatre Announces Casting
for Cabaret Event in June at the Aronoff Center 

(Cincinnati, OH) – Cincinnati Music Theatre (CMT) is pleased to announce the casting of NOTHING LIKE A DAME: A Cabaret of Broadway’s Leading Ladies at the Aronoff Center’s intimate Fifth-Third Bank Theater on June 8-9 and 15-16 (see detailed schedule below). CMT has attracted some of the area’s top local talent and theatre veterans – many of whom have performed in past CMT productions – for its second cabaret production through a new partnership with the Cincinnati Arts Association.

The sparkling new cabaret will celebrate Broadway’s legendary leading ladies – from Mary Martin and Ethel Merman to Idina Menzel and Kristen Chenoweth. Sitting at tables with a drink in hand and lite bites from We Olive, audiences will hear the most memorable musical moments from the Golden Age of Broadway, right up to today’s contemporary hit shows, including Anything GoesThe Sound of MusicGypsyEvitaInto the Woodsand Wicked. A charming master of ceremonies will share interesting facts and amusing anecdotes about these beloved Broadway dames, whose personalities and talents created stage legends and transcended marquees. It’s the perfect show for a night out with friends!

About DREAMGIRLS:
Based on the stories of real life music icons, The Supremes, James Brown, and others, DREAMGIRLS offers a behind-the-scenes look at the music industry of the 60s as it tells the story of R&B group The Dreams. Starting out as a trio of singers and friends, Effie, Deena, and Lorrell are determined to make it big in the vibrant music landscape of the 1960s. But as the band’s success grows, their relationships deteriorate.

Featuring such songs as “Dreamgirls,” “And I am Telling You,” and “One Night Only,” this Tony Award-winning musical was adapted into the 2006 motion picture starring Jennifer Hudson, Beyoncé, Jamie Foxx, Edie Murphy, Danny Glover, and Anika Noni Rose.

Cast Announced for MAN OF LA MANCHA at Mason Community Players

Liz, Jonathan, and Peyton have assembled an experienced production staff that includes Vocal Director Jon Scheiding and Orchestral Director Larry Hirth. With this extremely talented cast, the show promises to be tour de force. This musical won a Tony Award for Best Musical and Best Musical Score in 1966. It’s signature song “The Impossible Dream” is beloved by generations. If you have never seen this show live on stage, you do not want to miss this opportunity. This cast will not disappoint!
