MEALS 4 MONOLOGUES Open Auditions

With the holiday season upon us, Ensemble Theatre Cincinnati is thrilled to be hosting our first ever Meals 4 Monologues open audition. The event, which is part of a nationwide Casting Society of America to audition local talent while supporting local food banks during the holiday season, will be held at Ensemble Theatre Cincinnati.

This is an open casting call to Equity union and non-union actors of any age for future theatre, film, TV, and/or commercial projects cast by D. Lynn Meyers, C.S.A. All are welcome to audition in exchange for 2 non-perishable food items, which will benefit Cincinnati’s Freestore Foodbank.

Auditions will be held on Tuesday, December 4 from 2-6 pm.

Audition time slots are 5 MINUTES maximum and are available by appointment only.

Deadline to schedule audition is November 30, 2012.

To audition, actors must bring:

  • A current HEADSHOT and RÉSUMÉ
  • TWO non-perishable food (pasta, canned goods, etc…) or toiletry items (soap, toothpaste, etc…)
  • A short, prepared monologue, song (must be performed a cappella), or both.

FLI Announces Extended Auditions for SCHOOL HOUSE ROCK LIVE

Audition Details:
Monday 11/12 and Tuesday 11/13, 7:30-9:30 PM, at Footlighters’ Stained Glass Theatre

  • No Appointment Is Necessary
  • Please prepare 16 bars from a Broadway musical that best represents your voice and range
  • An accompanist will be provided and no tapes/CDs will be permitted
  • Please bring comfortable clothing/footwear and be prepared to learn a short dance combination

The Show:
A pop culture phenomenon comes to the musical stage! The Emmy Award-winning 1970’s Saturday morning cartoon series that taught history, grammar, math, and more through clever, tuneful songs is not only making a small-screen comeback, it’s lighting up stages everywhere — from school multi-purpose rooms to university and regional theatres all around the country. SCHOOLHOUSE ROCK LIVE! follows Tom, a nerve-wracked school teacher who is nervous about his first day of teaching. He tries to relax by watching TV when various characters representing facets of his personality emerge from the set and show him how to win his students over with imagination and music, through such songs as “Just A Bill,” “Lolly, Lolly, Lolly,” and “Conjunction Junction.”

Cast Breakdown:

  • TOM – A teacher who has just received his degree. (Baritone)
  • DINA – The mature side – thoughtful and grounded. (Mezzo Soprano)
  • DORI – The goofy side – silly and playful. (Mezzo Soprano)
  • GEORGE – The romantic side – caring and in control. (Baritone)
  • JOE – The cool side – laid-back and fun-loving. (Baritone)
  • SHULIE – The sweet side – genuine. (Alto)

TCP Announces Auditions for RUN FOR YOUR WIFE

Tri-County Players auditions for wacky British comedy – RUN FOR YOUR WIFE by R. Cooney.
Directed by Leslie Brinkman.

Monday, November 5, Wednesday Nov. 7 – at 7 pm to 9 pm
Sharonville Fine Arts Center, 11165 Reading Road Cincinnati, OH 45241

6 men, 2 women, age range mid-twenties to late 50’s. Cold readings from the script.

Showdates – January 25, 26, 27 and February 1, 2.

The story of London cab driver John Smith, with two wives, two houses – living virtually two lives, and a very precise schedule for juggling it all. This works out well enough for him until he is bopped on the head and, in a dazed state, gives one address to the police and the other to the hospital. Soon, police officers are ringing the doorbells at each home to investigate the inconsistency. Having upset his “domestic” schedule, Smith becomes hopelessly entangled in one hilarious lie after another in an attempt to explain things to his two wives and two suspicious police officers.

Character descriptions: likable bigamist husband, suspicious police officers, overly inventive male friend, insistent reporter, a patient but confused wife, sex obsessed wife, flamboyant upstairs neighbor.

CMC Auditioning for The Mistletones

Cincinnati Museum Center announces auditions for The Mistletones, a group of carolers who perform throughout the museum during the Holidays. We are looking for men and women who are strong singers and can act.

Auditions will be held at the Cincinnati Museum Center in the Reakirt Auditorium, 1301 Western Avenue, Cincinnati, OH 45203.

Audition Dates

  • Thursday October 18th – 1pm – 5pm (by appointment only)
  • Friday October 19th – 2pm – 5pm (by appointment only)
  • Sunday October 21st – 5pm – 8pm (open audition)
