Auditions for NUNCRACKERS – The Nunsense Christmas Musical

The Drama Workshop will be holding auditions for selected roles in NUNCRACKERS by Dan Goggin on Tuesday 8/16 & Wednesday, 8/17, 7-10 pm at The Glenmore Playhouse. Thursday 8/18 will be reserved for callbacks if needed.

The performance dates are December 2 – 18, Fridays and Saturdays at 8:00 PM, Sundays at 2:00 PM. Additional dates may be added.
The roles of Reverend Mother, Sister Robert Anne and Sister Mary Paul (Amnesia) are pre-cast.
The following roles are available:
- Sister Mary Hubert (soprano w/big voice for a “gospel” solo) — 20s-40s; second in command; not so secretly thinks Reverend Mother makes mistakes in leadership; tries to keep order where there is chaos; likes to be in charge, and is thwarted at every turn; rallies with a big 11 o’clock gospel number that shakes the roof off.
- Fr. Virgil (tenor to baritone) — 20s-60s; strong actor with comic timing; a priest with a bent for show biz; has his own radio show and relishes his celebrity; despite his used- car- salesman antics, he has a warm heart.
- 2 girls, 2 boys — Students at Mt. St Helen’s school. All must be energetic, fearless on stage, strong harmonizers, well behaved, reliable and focused. Strong singers who move well: 2 boys and 2 girls, junior high and/or high school age will be cast.
Auditioners are asked to prepare 32 bars from a musical song and come prepared to dance.

CAMELOT is the timeless legend of King Arthur brought to the stage. Based on the classic work The Once and Future King, CAMELOT was a successful Broadway show before being turned into a musical movie in 1967. The story begins with a young Arthur nervous to meet his new wife, Guenevera. Before disappearing forever, Merlin offers some last advice, and Arthur sets out to build the ideal society of knights. With the help of Guenevera, Lancelot, and Pellinore, Arthur begins his quest to establish the knights of the round table. However, it’s not long before old sins and new betrayals threaten to undo all the things they’ve built. This musical blends humor with drama in a wonderful story of chivalry and the legacy we leave behind.
