Fans aren’t the only ones blown away by The Simon & Garfunkel Story. Earlier this year, immediately following a performance in Long Island, Art Garfunkel himself rushed the stage, grabbed the microphone, and declared, “What a great f—— show!” before leaving the audience in awe once again. If the legend himself is a fan, you know this is a tour you won’t want to miss.

The Simon & Garfunkel Story covers the duo’s humble beginnings as Tom & Jerry to their incredible success as one of the best-selling music groups of the ‘60s, as well as their dramatic split in 1970. The Simon & Garfunkel Story culminates with the pair’s famous “The Concert in Central Park” reunion in 1981 which had more than half a million fans in attendance. The show features a set list of nearly thirty songs and uses state-of-the-art video projection, photos, and original film footage. A full live band will perform all the hits including “Mrs. Robinson,” “Cecilia,” “Bridge Over Troubled Water,” “Homeward Bound,” and many more, complete with the unmistakably perfect harmonies that will transport audiences down memory lane.

With more than 100 million album sales since 1965, Simon & Garfunkel’s unforgettable songs and poetic lyrics poignantly captured the times and made them one of the most successful folk-rock duos of all time. Over the years, they won ten Grammy Awards and were inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 1990. In 1977, the Brit Awards honored their “Bridge Over Troubled Water” album with Best International Album. In 2003, Simon & Garfunkel were awarded a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award, and the following year saw their “The Sound of Silence” awarded a Grammy Hall of Fame Award.

Auditions Announced for A MISCAST CABARET at Queen City Productions

Queen City Productions is holding auditions for its spring production: A MISCAST CABARET.

A MISCAST CABARET is a revue style production featuring actors doing songs, scenes and choreography they would not normally be given the chance to perform. This show gives performers the opportunity to perform pieces they might not be the right gender, age, race, etc… to play in a normal, full-scale production.

What to prepare:

  • Auditionees should prepare a song, scene, monologue or dance piece that they would like to perform in the actual show. This should be something that the auditionee would not typically be cast in because they do not fit the “typical” casting type.
  • If you are singing, please bring a backing track or you can accompany yourself on an instrument you bring with you.
  • You can sign up for an audition at the following link. Walk-ins are welcome and will be seen in the next available slot.
    https://www.signupgenius.com/go/8050C44ACAA2AAAFD0-62776680-miscast#/
  • We will also be accepting video submissions for auditions. Please email those to queencityproductions@yahoo.com by Monday, March 15th at 10pm.

Performances will be April 16th-19th at The Arts Center at Dunham.

Rehearsals will begin Sunday, March 22nd at 6pm. Rehearsals will be minimal for this production with cast members only needing to attend two rehearsals for their individual act before Tech Week and they will be able to schedule those at a time that works for them. There will also be group numbers for this show (Opening, Closing, All Female presenting, All Male presenting) and those rehearsals will be held on either Fridays or Sundays.
