Additional Auditions Announced for HONK! at Beechmont Players Inc.

BPI_logoBeechmont Players, Inc is holding additional auditions for both adult and children!

Join an already talented and creative cast for our production of HONK!  We still need a couple of roles covered and would like to see some adults. Specifically, we are looking for:

  • 3 men: Ages 20-50; baritones
  • 2 women: Ages 30-50; alto, mezzo, or soprano

Also, we’re ready to cast ducklings, poults, froglets and frogs for HONK! For these roles, we are looking for:

  • 4-8 young people: boys and girls ages 10-15 or young adults 16-20  (all voice ranges welcome, dance background a plus)

Auditions are by appointment only on Wednesday, November 13, from 7pm – 8:30pm OR Friday, November 15 from 7pm – 8:30pm at:

Auditionees should prepare 16-32 measures of a song that best showcases their vocal talents. An accompanist will be provided. Cold readings from the script may also occur.

Performances run Feb. 14-22.

Emmy Award-winning soprano Adrienne Danrich performs a musical tribute honoring the groundbreaking careers of opera singers Marian Anderson and Leontyne Price

Cincinnati, OH – Cincinnati Opera proudly presents THIS LITTLE LIGHT OF MINE, performed by Emmy Award-winning soprano Adrienne Danrich on Sunday, November 17 at 4:00 p.m. at College Hill Presbyterian Church.

Written and performed by Danrich, the one-woman show is a musical tribute to the groundbreaking careers of African American opera singers Marian Anderson and Leontyne Price. Danrich’s storytelling, the beauty of her voice, and multimedia images document the lives of these two renowned artists who overcame many racial barriers in the Jim Crow era, through the Civil Rights Movement, and beyond.

THIS LITTLE LIGHT OF MINE is presented as part of Cincinnati Opera’s 100th Anniversary Season.

Admission to THIS LITTLE LIGHT OF MINE is free, though tickets are required (limit four tickets per household). Tickets are available beginning Monday, November 11 at 10 a.m. by visiting cincinnatiopera.org or calling (513) 241-2742.

Junior Claus is the only son of Santa and Mrs. Claus. Like many teenagers, Junior is reluctant to take over the family business. When a sudden drop in Christmas spirit renders Santa incapable of making the great ride, Junior must take the reins. Meanwhile, a scheming, miserly elf takes advantage of Santa’s absence as he plots to turn the workshop into a for-profit enterprise. Together with his cheery elf best friend, a gregarious penguin and a host of colorful characters, Junior must learn the true meaning of Christmas in time to save the day.
