Auditions Announced for FOOTLOOSE the Musical at Encore Youth Theatre

EYT_logoEncore’s proud to announce our summer show, FOOTLOOSE The Musical!

Auditions are open to any child who is entering the 7th grade after the summer through recently graduated high school seniors.

  • Thu, April 26 from 6:30-9pm
  • Sat, April 30 from 10am-12:30pm

Auditions and rehearsals (for the first few weeks) will take place at The Presbyterian Church of Hamilton (23 S Front St, Hamilton, OH 45011).

Children will need to bring a 1-minute song for their audition. They can either use a backing track on a cd, tablet, or phone or sing acapella. They will potentially be asked to dance or read from the script.

Please familiarize yourself with the audition dance using the following link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CEPfXEzRQks

In order to participate in an Encore show, an $85 participation fee is required, along with 10 sold tickets. This fee covers one meal on “Tech Sunday”, as well as our final summer sendoff celebration!

Over the course of rehearsals, you may be required to supply your own general costume pieces (shoes, socks, t-shirts) etc. Other than that, you’ll have access to our costume wardrobe with over 25 years worth of shows!

Rehearsals will start May 23rd with a week of light rehearsal where not everyone may be called (we know you have exams to study for!) Starting the week of May 30th, Encore will rehearse 6:30 – 10:00, Mondays-Thursdays. MOST rehearsals require the entirety of the cast to come to every rehearsal. A schedule will be passed out at the first rehearsal.

Rehearsals will begin at The Presbyterian Church of Hamilton (23 S Front St, Hamilton, OH 45011).

Beginning June 6th, we will rehearse in our performance space, Parrish Auditorium (1601 University Blvd, Hamilton, OH 45011), on Miami University Hamilton’s campus.

A mandatory “Tech Week” is required by all performers during the week, starting with our “Tech Sunday” on July 18th culminating with our performances July 21st-23rd. We will do our best to release the performers at a decent time, but as tech weeks go, long hours may be required.

Performances begin at 7:30 each night with a 2:00 matinee on July 23rd.
