September 8-25, 2022
This Random World by Steven Dietz
Directed by Laura Berkemeier

November 3-20, 2022
The Gods of Comedy by Ken Ludwig
Directed by Jennifer Keith Day

Daphne and Ralph are young classics professors who have just made a discovery that’s sure to turn them into academic superstars, but something goes disastrously wrong. The Ivy League will never be the same as a pair of screwball deities encounters the carnal complexity of college coeds, campus capers, and conspicuous consumption. (Comedy)

January 12-29, 2023
Dearly Departed by David Bottrell and Jessie Jones
Directed by Aaron Whitehead

In the Baptist backwoods of the Bible Belt, the beleaguered Turpin family proves that living and dying in the South are seldom tidy and always hilarious. Despite their earnest efforts to pull themselves together for their father’s funeral, the Turpins’ other problems keep overshadowing the solemn occasion. (Comedy)

March 9-26, 2023
August: Osage County by Tracy Letts
Directed by Jerry Wiesenhahn

When the large Weston family unexpectedly reunites after Dad disappears, their Oklahoman family homestead explodes in a maelstrom of repressed truths and unsettling secrets. Mix in Violet, the drugged-up, scathingly acidic matriarch, and you’ve got a major play that unflinchingly—and uproariously—exposes the dark side of the Midwestern American family. Winner of the 2008 Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award. (Drama)

May 4-21, 2023
Cry It Out by Molly Smith Metzler
Directed by Becky Collins

In the sweet spot between their yards where both baby monitors get reception, new moms Jessie and Lina bond over coffee during naptime while laughing through the highs and lows of motherhood. A comedy with dark edges, Cry It Out takes an honest look at the absurdities of being home with a baby, the power of female friendship, the dilemma of going back to work, and the effect class has on parenthood in America. (Comedy/Drama)

July 13-30, 2023
Ain’t Misbehavin’
Directed by Elizabeth Leigh Taylor

Assembled under the expert eye of director/lyricist, Richard Maltby, Jr., Ain’t Misbehavin’ is one of the most popular, well-crafted revues of all time and winner of the 1978 Tony Award for Best Musical. Not quite a biography, Ain’t Misbehavin’ evokes the delightful humor and infectious energy of this American original.

ETC_logoSubmission Deadline of March 31, 2022

(Cincinnati, OH) Tristate area playwrights, it’s your time to shine! Ensemble Theatre Cincinnati hosts the fourth annual PLAY/write: The Jackie Demaline Regional Collegiate Playwriting Competition, held in memory of writer, critic, and arts advocate, Jackie Demaline. Students currently enrolled full- or part-time at a university or college in the Cincinnati tristate region are welcome to submit their plays to the competition. Demaline’s love of the arts started at a young age. Throughout her life, she continued to be a passionate believer in the arts as an entertainment writer and editor for multiple newspapers and publications. After moving to Cincinnati in 1994, she covered theatre and the arts for The Cincinnati Enquirer for 20 years and worked as an important catalyst for change and growth during a time when new theatres and companies were popping up all over Cincinnati, helping to secure their place in the community.

After a four-year battle with cancer, Demaline passed away on June 17, 2018. As her final gift to the community, she arranged for her estate to fund the PLAY/write competition. CCM Presents Virtual MOVEABLE FEAST 2022: A BRIDGE TO THE STARS

CCM_Moveable Feast 2022Enjoy the artistry of CCM students and alumni — all from the comfort of your own home during the
college’s virtual fundraising event

CINCINNATI, OH – CCMpower is thrilled to announce the return of Cincinnati’s one-of-a-kind virtual fundraising event, Moveable Feast, featuring incredible performances by UC College-Conservatory of Music’s student artists. Despite circumstances that keep us from being together in person again, CCMpower has planned a joyful evening of artistry, food, celebration and togetherness with Moveable Feast 2022: A Bridge to the Stars, presented online on Friday, Jan. 21, 2022.

Attendees can expand their artistic palettes by enjoying exceptional CCM performances and learning about the CCM students whose lives are transformed through sponsorships and patron support. The start of Moveable Feast gives virtual audiences time to choose their menu of activities while enjoying a delicious dinner from Jeff Thomas Catering and Rhinegeist Brewery — socialize with other virtual guests, chat with some of CCM’s most famed alumni like Broadway star Karen Olivo, or spend some time behind the scenes with a glimpse at how CCM productions are created — all from the comfort of your own home.

As the virtual performance begins, Moveable Feast will take you on an artistic journey through CCM, treat you to performances by stars-of-tomorrow like CCM’s Musical Theatre Class of 2024 and the college’s award-winning Jazz Orchestra, give you a glimpse behind the curtain to witness the magic of putting together a mainstage production, take you inside the journey to become an opera star and so much more. The final performance features the CCM Philharmonia in a triumphant excerpt from Gustav Mahler’s Symphony No. 1 in D Major. The evening culminates with a special treat from CCM alumnus and famed Broadway composer Stephen Flaherty, which you won’t want to miss while you enjoy a treat from dessert sponsor, Graeter’s Ice Cream!

Moveable Feast 2022 will also honor a true “Bridge to the Stars,” Distinguished Alumnus and Professor Emeritus Earl Rivers. During his nearly 50 years at CCM, Rivers built one of the most prestigious choral conducting programs in the United States. Rivers also directed the Cincinnati Vocal Arts Ensemble for 20 years, led the Knox Choir at Hyde Park’s Knox Presbyterian Church for nearly five decades and was instrumental in the success of the 2012 World Choir Games in Cincinnati. His story and impact on CCM is an important stop on Moveable Feast’s artistic journey as the college celebrates this exemplary alumnus, teacher and artist. CCMpower also plans to celebrate Rivers in person during the next Moveable Feast!

Hosted by CCMpower — a dedicated volunteer group comprised of friends, advocates and alumni — Moveable Feast generates essential support to fund student scholarships, projects and travel opportunities. These unique educational offerings are essential to the CCM experience and provide creative opportunities for students that are vital to their growth as creators and collaborators. In the unforgiving landscape of this global pandemic, your support provides critical funding that the college needs to address the ever-changing challenges presented by COVID-19 and vital scholarship dollars for students. By attending Moveable Feast, you enjoy an unforgettable evening and provide life-changing funding support that impacts hundreds of students.
