FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

YOUR COMPUTER, PLANET EARTH – After pioneering the live digital theater domain during the pandemic, and selling out eight weeks of DESPERATELY SEEKING THE EXIT live streams, Peter Michael Marino now teams up with Cincy Fringe for these special events as he shares the critically acclaimed, notorious tale of the making and unmaking of his West End-Blondie-Madonna musical disaster, “Desperately Seeking Susan.”

In 2007, American actor/writer Peter Michael Marino wrote a musical based on the Madonna film “Desperately Seeking Susan,” featuring the hit songs of Blondie. It opened on London’s West End…and closed a month later. Whoops! This high-octane, comical solo train ride fills in the blanks of how the $6 million musical was made and unmade. From hatching the idea, to deals with producers, MGM, Debbie Harry, and even Madonna…all the way to thrilling workshops, dangerous previews, scathing reviews, closing night, and beyond. Experience this notorious award-winning tale LIVE on your computer.

Summer Classics Season Postponed to 2021 at Warsaw Federal Incline Theatre

WFIT_Sign at nightCLP officials announced today the cancellation of the remainder of the scheduled 2020 Summer Classics Season at the Warsaw Federal Incline Theater. This joins the previously canceled production of NEWSIES.

Since the entire slate of shows were shelved this summer, we would like to announce today:

  • We intend to produce the 2020 Summer Classics Season lineup next summer, in 2021. This is pending rights and talent availability and budget considerations.
  • All 2020 subscriptions will automatically be transferred to the 2021 season
o Same shows, same seats, same price, same basic timing!

Until and unless we hear from 2020 Summer Classics subscribers, your account in the Cincinnati Landmark Productions ticketing system would show that you are fully paid for the 2021 Summer Classics Season.

You might prefer to use this credit on (1) additional tickets to future productions or (2) as a credit for future subscriptions at either the Warsaw Federal Incline Theater or at the Covedale Center for the Performing Arts.

Note: if you donated your Newsies tickets to CLP, we will automatically convert your donation back into tickets to the show for next year. If you wish your donation to remain as a tax deductible contribution, please just let us know that.

IMPOSSIBLE DREAM Cancelled at Covedale Center for the Performing Arts

CCPAProgramming Updates:

Without an established timeline for the suspension of the mass gathering ban, and with deadlines to begin rehearsals and create sets, props and costumes, CLP senior staff and board must make the difficult decision to cancel the following productions.

Covedale Season Finale IMPOSSIBLE DREAM Cancelled

CLP officials announced this weekend that the scheduled run of IMPOSSIBLE DREAM: CELEBRATING 100 SHOWS AT THE COVEDALE, which was designed to replace the April run of ALL SHOOK UP, has been officially cancelled.

CLP Executive Artistic Director Tim Perrino explained in a letter to ticket-holders that the company has no way of getting this new production on its feet this month, even if the mass gathering ban were to be lifted in time to re-open our doors.

CLP is asking ticket holders to please consider donating the value of their ALL SHOOK UP/IMPOSSIBLE DREAM tickets to Cincinnati Landmark Productions to help the organization through this difficult period.

Until and unless we hear from ALL SHOOK UP/IMPOSSIBLE DREAM ticket holders, in the meantime, your account in the Cincinnati Landmark Productions ticketing system would be credited the amount of your ticket purchase. This could be used for (1) additional tickets to future productions or (2) as a credit for future subscriptions at either the Warsaw Federal Incline Theater or at the Covedale Center for the Performing Arts.

Contact the Box Office at (513) 241-6550 – 11am to 5pm, Monday through Friday – if you wish to make other plans. Or email Box Office Manager Denny Reed at dennyreed@clpshows.org.

Stay tuned, though, because we really want to celebrate with you the milestone of our 100th show at the Covedale Center. We’re hopeful we can try the idea again in the future, and we’ll alert you when we do!

Casts Announced for GOD OF CARNAGE at Equality Productions

EP_logoEquality Productions proudly announces the casts for GOD OF CARNAGE.

  • Alan – Fred Murrell
  • Annette – Katie Jensen
  • Michael – Evan Blanton
  • Veronica – Traci Taylor

This cast’s performance is expected to be available online Sunday, May 24 for one day only.

  • Alan – Chris Bishop
  • Annette – Heather Abbott
  • Michael – Darren Lee
  • Veronica – Linda Callahan

The play by Yasmina Reza (Art) won the Tony Award for Best Play and runs about 90 minutes. Note there is an advisory of Strong Language. The comedy’s inciting incident is a playground altercation between eleven-year-old boys, which brings together two sets of parents for a meeting to resolve the matter. At first, diplomatic niceties are observed, but as the meeting progresses, and the alcohol flows, tensions emerge and the gloves come off, leaving the couples with more than just their principles in tatters..

Per the agreement with the play publisher, patrons need to purchase tickets to view the shows online. In light of the country’s economic situation, we offer PAY WHAT YOU CAN tickets. The suggested donation is $10 per viewing, which you would donate directly to a Greater Cincinnati community theater of your choice.

For instructions on how to view the performance(s), email equalityproductions@gmail.com with the production(s) you want to watch (i.e., cast of 5/23 and/or cast of 5/24).

Let’s support our community theaters and these talented actors for their time and talent. Thanks for your consideration to donate to our wonderful community theaters on behalf of Equality Productions.
