CCM_Moveable Feast logoExperience the unparalleled magic of CCM Village during one dazzling evening of live entertainment and by-the-bite cuisine on Jan. 17, 2020

CINCINNATI, OH— Cincinnati’s premier fundraiser returns in early 2020 when the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music (CCM) presents MOVEABLE FEAST. Help fuel the future of the arts and light the way for CCM students at this unique benefit event on Friday, Jan. 17, 2020.

Hosted by CCMpower — a dedicated volunteer group comprised of fans, advocates and alumni — MOVEABLE FEAST showcases students and faculty members in an evening of world-class live entertainment. For one night only, Cincinnati audiences can experience CCM’s student stars of tomorrow in a variety of performances that showcase the full spectrum of the performing and media arts. The funds raised by the event enable CCMpower to fuel the future of the arts by awarding student scholarships and grants.

Attendees roam through the expansive CCM Village, socializing and enjoying dinner-by-the-bite provided by Jeff Thomas Catering while creating their own menu of artistic experiences. Guests plan their own schedule of 20-minute samplings of student and faculty entertainment, including Jazz, Choral, Musical Theatre, Piano, Opera, Acting, Dance and Orchestra performances, along with tours of CCM’s Electronic Media facilities, Lighting Design labs and other backstage areas.

This year’s MOVEABLE FEAST celebrates the contributions of Trish Bryan to CCM and the Cincinnati arts community. Bryan has been instrumental in creating the artistic landscape that is unique to the Queen City. She has served as the President of the Friends of CCM (now CCMpower), Chair of the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra Board of Trustees, Chair of the Board of Trustees for the American Classical Music Hall of Fame and lent her expertise and time to countless arts organizations. Casting Call Announced for END OF THE RAINBOW at The Carnegie

tc_end of the rainbow logoCOVINGTON, KY – The Carnegie is seeking two actors (non-singing) for male characters in their spring production of END OF THE RAINBOW. Actors are invited to submit resumes and/or performance reels for these roles. Those best suited to the roles will be invited to audition in person. Please contact Theatre Director Maggie Perrino at mperrino@thecarnegie.com with resume and optional reel. Resumes will be accepted until roles are cast.

END OF THE RAINBOW by Peter Quilter is a savagely funny drama featuring a glorious ensemble of Judy Garland hits such as “Get Happy,” “The Man that Got Away,” and, of course, “Somewhere Over the Rainbow.” The production follows Judy Garland on the comeback trail in 1968. The failed marriages, the suicide attempts, and the addictions are all behind her. At forty-six and with new flame Mickey Deans at her side, she seems determined to carry it off and recapture her magic. But lasting happiness always eludes some people, and there was never any answer to the question with which Judy ended every show: “If happy little bluebirds fly beyond the rainbow, why, oh why, can’t I?”

The available roles for the production are:

  • Mikey Deans: Male, 30-40. Non-Singing Role. The last husband to Judy Garland; her manager and former club owner; handsome, charming, and can be imposing physically; there is a lovely, caring, and charming side of him and at the same time he can be physically imposing and combative, dark and somewhat dangerous; he gives off the appearance of being caring, yet also has a selfish side.
  • Anthony: Male, 40-55. Non-Singing Role. English or Scottish accent required. Ability to play piano accompaniment throughout show required. Anthony is Judy’s accompanist and musical advisor as well as sometimes spiritual guide, gay and soft spoken with a clever edge, gentle and caring with an inner strength, ethical and honest, is capable of support and understanding, and yet is aware of the inevitable outcome ahead. Note: be prepared to play piano is asked to audition in person.

Rehearsals are evenings and weekends February 17-March 19. Due to small cast size, scheduling will be customized to availability of actors in the cast. The production’s eight performances are scheduled for:

  • Saturday, March 21, 7:30pm
  • Sunday, March 22, 3pm
  • Friday, March 27, 7:30pm
  • Saturday, March 28, 7:30pm
  • Sunday, March 29, 3pm
  • Friday, April 3, 7:30pm
  • Saturday, April 4, 7:30pm
  • Sunday, April 5, 3pm
