Auditions Announced for CRIMES OF THE HEART at Greater Hamilton Civic Theatre

Audition Dates: Sunday, February 24, 2019 – 7pm

Synopsis: This play, by Beth Henley, relates the story of three Magrath sisters (Meg, Babe and Lenny) who reunite at Old Granddaddy’s home in Hazlehurst, Mississippi. The sisters were raised in a dysfunctional family with a penchant for ugly predicaments. Each has endured her share of hardship and misery. Past resentments bubble to the surface as the sisters are forced to deal with assorted relatives and past relationships while coping with Babe’s latest incident. Each sister is forced to face the consequences of the “crimes of the heart” she has committed.

Casting: 4 Women, 2 Men
All characters are age range (stage age) 25 to 35 years old

NEXT TO NORMAL explores how one suburban household copes with crisis and mental illness. Dad’s an architect; Mom rushes to pack lunches and pour cereal; their daughter and son are bright, wise-cracking teens, appearing to be a typical American family. And yet their lives are anything but normal because the mother has been battling manic depression for 16 years.
