First Opportunity for the Public to Visit The Otto M. Budig Theater is August 13 at the Family Festival!

CINCINNATI (July 28, 2017) – Cincinnati will have its first opportunity to come inside The Otto M. Budig Theater on Sunday August 13, 2017 at the Family Festival!  This event is presented by ArtsWave and is open from 3-7pm at the theater followed by a FREE Shakespeare in the Park performance of “Romeo and Juliet” in Washington Park at 7pm.

CSC will be offering guided tours of the theater and back stage spaces, as well as activities for children of all ages, and presentations from various arts groups and collaborators. Visitors will also get a special sneak peek at the rehearsal and creative process for “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” which is opening on September 8.  There will be Midsummer Fairy themed crafts and face painting, storytelling and music, and Stage Combat Workshops for the whole family!

Admission to Cincinnati Shakespeare Company’s Family Festival and “Romeo and Juliet” is free and there is no ticket or RSVP required.  There will be lite refreshments and treats available.

CSC’s repertoire is made up of the works of William Shakespeare, literary adaptations, and contemporary classics. CSC performs on a Small Professional Theatre contract with Actors’ Equity Association. Cincinnati Shakespeare is a member of the Theatre Communications Group and the Shakespeare Theatre Association.  Cincinnati Shakespeare Company’s Education and Outreach Programs reached over 50,000 young people and underserved community members each season by taking Shakespeare into schools, parks, community centers and by hosting educational matinees of mainstage productions.  In 2014, CSC was proud to become one of the first five theaters in the United States to “Complete the Canon” by producing all 38 plays by William Shakespeare. CSC is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization and all donations are tax deductible.  Cincinnati Shakespeare Company is proud to be Cincinnati’s stage for the classics!
