CINCINNATI–Each year, Cincinnati Opera presents a diverse series of informative and entertaining Opera Raps lectures in the months leading up to, and during, the summer performance season. These community programs are created to enlighten and engage opera devotees and newcomers alike, and feature conversations on topics related to Cincinnati Opera’s 2017 Summer Festival. Delights for the Palate: Dishes Inspired by Opera
Fred Plotkin makes culinary music with the help of Cincinnati Opera’s favorite chef, Evans Mirageas. Enjoy a unique evening of delicious dishes, and learn about their interesting–and sometimes surprising–connections to opera.

Join Emma Griffin as she explores some of the fascinating female characters you’ll encounter at Cincinnati Opera this summer. Lauded by the New York Times for her “intelligent staging,” theater and opera director Emma Griffin is Assistant Professor of Music in Opera/Directing at UC’s CCM, and a frequent collaborator on new music and theater pieces.
