Falcon Welcomes Sir Pat-Trick & Mike Woodward

FT_logoLooking for something a little different? This weekend, we are hosting Sir Pat-Trick, Magical Entertainer at Falcon Theatre for a limited engagement!

A Little Night Magic, featuring Sir Pat-Trick and Illusionist Mike Woodward will present a family-friendly magic show perfect for all ages.

About Sir Pat-Trick:
Sir Pat-Trick has been turning heads with his award winning stage act. With numerous awards under his belt it is no wonder he has become a seasoned professional, even allowing him to receive two standing ovations at The Orleans Casino in Las Vegas and being asked to perform at The World Famous Magic Castle in Los Angeles California. Also Sir Pat-Trick has had articles about him being coached by Joanie Spina, Former Lead assistant and Artistic Director to David Copperfield, written about him in Magic Magazine, a worldwide publication for Magicians. His background in theater has enhanced his career in stage production and performances. He is a proud member of the Society of American Magicians, the International Brotherhood of Magicians, Magician Alliance of Eastern States, and the Covington Royal Academy of Prestidigitation. He combines different theatrical disciplines such as comedy, slap-stick, audience participation, storytelling with traditional magic that will guarantee to make any show a memorable one and his charming style will surely put a smile on your face

About Mike Woodward:
Mike Woodward became interested in magic as a small child and has been performing since that time. Mike’s early performances were usually for church groups, birthday parties, and civic organizations in the Central Kentucky area. Over the years, Mike’s performances have grown to include Colleges, Major Corporations, and Conventions throughout the US, with an occasional appearance in Canada, China and Mexico.

This limited engagement runs July 15 and 16 at 8 p.m. and a special matinee performance at 2 p.m. on July 17. Tickets are $20 for VIP (including a soft drink and gift), $15 for adults and $10 for children and available at alittlenightmagic.com or at the door.

All performances are at Falcon Theatre, 636 Monmouth Street, Newport, Kentucky.

Auditions Announced for NUNCRACKERS at The Drama Workshop

The Drama Workshop will be holding auditions for selected roles in NUNCRACKERS by Dan Goggin on Tuesday 8/16 & Wednesday, 8/17, 7-10 pm at The Glenmore Playhouse. Thursday 8/18 will be reserved for callbacks if needed.

The performance dates are December 2 – 18, Fridays and Saturdays at 8:00 PM, Sundays at 2:00 PM. Additional dates may be added.

The roles of Reverend Mother, Sister Robert Anne and Sister Mary Paul (Amnesia) are pre-cast.

The following roles are available:

  • Sister Mary Hubert (soprano w/big voice for a “gospel” solo) — 20s-40s; second in command; not so secretly thinks Reverend Mother makes mistakes in leadership; tries to keep order where there is chaos; likes to be in charge, and is thwarted at every turn; rallies with a big 11 o’clock gospel number that shakes the roof off.

  • Fr. Virgil (tenor to baritone) — 20s-60s; strong actor with comic timing; a priest with a bent for show biz; has his own radio show and relishes his celebrity; despite his used- car- salesman antics, he has a warm heart.

  • 2 girls, 2 boys — Students at Mt. St Helen’s school. All must be energetic, fearless on stage, strong harmonizers, well behaved, reliable and focused. Strong singers who move well: 2 boys and 2 girls, junior high and/or high school age will be cast.

Auditioners are asked to prepare 32 bars from a musical song and come prepared to dance.

In this play within-a-play, the opening night performance of the farce Nothing On is just hours away, and as the cast stumbles through their final dress rehearsal, things couldn’t be going any worse. With lines being forgotten, love triangles unraveling and sardines flying everywhere, it’s complete pandemonium… and we haven’t even reached intermission! Can the cast pull their act together on the stage even if they can’t behind the scenes?

Sound Board Operator Sought at Cincinnati Landmark Productions

CLPCincinnati Landmark Productions, the parent theatrical organization for The Covedale Center for the Performing Arts and the new Warsaw Federal Incline Theater is seeking a Sound Board Operator. We are willing to train the right candidate.

Basic Job Description:  The sound board operator will run the sound board for half of the Cincinnati Landmark Productions’ performances.   There are 14 productions a year and some special events throughout the year which will be split with our current sound board op.

Responsibilities include and are not limited to the following:

  • Run the sound console as directed by the Sound Designer.
  • Attend all technical rehearsals, dress rehearsals and performances in two venues – The Covedale Center for the Performing Arts and the new Warsaw Federal Incline Theater.
  • Run children’s series shows, any and all special events as scheduled.
  • Complete dimmer checks and sound check before the show and correct any problems, including, replacing batteries for wireless mic system, replacement of fixture lamps, touch up focus, check fluids in hazers, fog machines, etc…

Knowledge/Experience:

  • Experience in running a sound board is preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of theatre sound and lighting is preferred.
  • Clear understanding of all functions of sound board and how a system is put together. 

Other Requirements:

  • Must be at least 21 years of age, have high school diploma or equivalency, some college preferred.
  • Have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Candidate would have previous theatrical, technical experience (Preferred).
  • Must be able to work in an unsupervised environment.
  • Must be a self-starter, dependable, and have excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Basic computer skills required.
  • Must be willing and able to work nights and weekends of all performances.

Covedale Center for the Performing Arts shows run for 4 weeks on Thursdays at 7:30pm, Fridays and Saturdays at 8pm and Sundays 2pm.  Call is 1 and ½ hour prior to show time.  Tech/dress rehearsals are in the evenings starting on the Sunday before opening.

The Warsaw Federal Incline Theater shows run for 4 weeks on Thursdays at 7:30pm, Fridays and Saturdays at 8pm and Sundays 2pm.  Call is 1 and ½ hour prior to show time.  Tech/dress rehearsals are in the evenings starting on the Sunday before opening.

Auditions For 2016-2017 Junior Musical Theatre Intensive

AUDITIONS FOR CCM PREPARATORY AND COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT’S 2016-2017 JUNIOR MUSICAL THEATRE INTENSIVE PERFORMANCE TROUPE

Students interested in CCM Prep’s Junior Musical Theatre Intensive Performance Troupe will be able to submit audition material July 15-August 15.

The Junior MTI Performance Troupe provides a challenging and disciplined educational experience for middle school students who have a special interest in the production of musical theatre.

Students younger than 10, or older than 14 will be considered on a case-by-case basis, and a decision will be made that best serves the student’s educational interests and the program’s needs.

The students receive instruction in audition preparation, vocal music, choreography, and performance technique while working toward a full scale musical production of “Singin’ in the Rain, Jr.” in May in CCM’s Cohen Family Studio Theater. The students in this class also will present a 15 minute excerpt of “Singin’ in the Rain, Jr.” and attend the Junior Theater Festival in Atlanta, Georgia over Martin Luther King Weekend.
