ETC_Around the WorldAROUND THE WORLD IN 80 DAYS
Presented by Ensemble Theatre Cincinnati
Dec. 4-Jan. 4
Over-the-Rhine

Directed by D. Lynn Meyers

It is 1899 and the mysterious, brilliant, mathematically precise Englishman Phileas Fogg has wagered his considerable fortune that the world can now be circumnavigated in 80 days. Will bandits, buffalo, winter storms and even the meddlesome Scotland Yard prevent him and his wily valet, Passepartout, from completing this daunting task? Jumping between trains and steamships, even employing an elephant, this magical family-friendly adventure leads Fogg to discover a wider world as well as his own heart in this swashbuckling musical retelling of Jules Verne’s classic tale.

KTC’s BULL Earns 4 Star Rating from LCT

BULL, a companion piece by Mike Bartlett to the play COCK, which was produced by the Know Theatre last year, explores the hazards of office life in a cut-throat economy.

Panelists found the play “funny, sharp, and brutal…the playwright creates characters that speak truthfully about the human condition which sometimes is not pleasant to see or hear.” The entire ensemble was praised for their performance, which was “delicious to watch… The verbal repartee was conducted with a refreshing briskness.”

So, to paraphrase, no bull, know BULL at the Know.

BULLcontinues through November 30th. Tickets can be purchased at http://www.knowtheatre.com/.

League of Cincinnati Theatre panelists evaluate productions on a 5 star scale and recommend shows at either a 4 star or 5 star level. Nominations for LCT awards will be determined and announced at the end of the season and winners awarded at the annual LCT gala in the spring.

The League of Cincinnati Theatres was founded in 1999 to strengthen, nurture and promote Cincinnati’s theatre community. LCT provides its member companies and individual members with education, resources and services to enhance the quality and exposure of the theatre community in Cincinnati and increase community awareness, attendance and involvement.
