THE SECRET GARDEN
Presented by Village Players
Dec. 2-11

Mary Lennox, the spoiled child of uncaring parents dead in India, is sent to Yorkshire to live with her Uncle and Guardian in a mansion on the moor. There she hears mysterious crying down the halls and knows that the housekeeper and the doctor are plotting something evil. Through the sympathy of a young housemaid, Martha, and her brother, Dickon, who tames animals, including a live rabbit, Mary comes to know what love means. Together they solve the mystery of the crying. In the “secret garden” she and her friends experience the restorative powers of creativity and self-realization.

Boy Needed for VP’s THE SECRET GARDEN

I am searching for a boy who looks 8-10 years old, to play Colin in a mostly non musical version of the beloved children’s story, “The Secret Garden”.

The show is produced by Village Players of Ft. Thomas, KY. Performances are December 2 and 9 at 7 p.m., and December 2,3,10 and 11 at 1 p.m. and 4p.m.

We plan to rehearse Sunday, Monday, Thirsday and Friday, and while the role is pivotal, chances are this actor would not be required every night until the last 10 days or so. If you are or know someone who might fit this role, please contact me at cemmer@cinci.rr.com.

DANCING AT LUGHNASA runs Sept. 23-Oct. 1

DANCING AT LUGHNASA
Presented by The Village Players
Sept. 23-Oct. 1
Fort Thomas

DANCING AT LUGHNASA is the story of five unmarried sisters eking out their lives in a small village in Ireland in 1936. We meet them at the time of the festival of Lughnasa, which celebrates the pagan god of the harvest with drunken revelry and dancing. Their spare existence is interrupted by brief, colorful bursts of music from the radio, their only link to the romance and hope of the world at large. The action of the play is told through the memory of the illegitimate son of one of the sisters as he remembers the five women who raised him, his mother and four maiden aunts.
