Village Players Seek Directors for 2015-16 Season

VP_logoTo celebrate our 50th year, the Village Players 2015-16 season will be crafted from a list of past productions, all of which were audience favorites. (See list below.) Directors who are interested in one or more of these shows should request an application by emailing Steve Myers at sfmyers@fuse.net.

Potential directors will be interviewed at our board meeting on Tuesday, December 9, 2014, starting at 8 p.m.

Village Players typically produces three regular season shows – September, February and April — and a children’s show in December. (The children’s show may be performed by adults, children, or a combination of each.)

Cast: Chris Bishop as Santa, Leslie Hillner as Mrs. Claus, Eylie Lorenz as Candy, Paul Tucker as Frost, Kenneth Klem as Alfred, Morgan Gubser as Chris, Nadia Ibrahim as Sam, Catherine Brown as Pat & Maureen Brennan as Aubrey.

A holiday-themed family-friendly, world premiere comedy. This family-friendly comedy explores life in the almost-normal Claus household. Santa’s children are missing. The elves are planning vacations to Vegas. Santa has taken to wearing flip-flops. And Mrs. Claus is trying to keep them all in line and focused on the impending Christmas deadline. Ages 5 and up.

VP Announces Cast for AACT entry, ON WEAPONS AND WOUNDS

vp_logoIt’s official! The Village Players of Fort Thomas will be represented at this years AACT competition at the Kentucky Theatre Association with a collection of short plays by our own accomplished playwright Angela Klocke Forbes.

The cast of On Weapons And Wounds (a working title) is as follows:
UNAUTHORIZED TRANSACTIONS – Teresa Myers and Joe Doscher
REASONABLE EXPECTATIONS – Jocelynne Jason and Steve Myers
DIVIDING ADAMS ASHES – Nathan Henegar, Joe Doscher and Steve Myers
COLLATERAL DAMAGE AND OTHER COSMIC CONSEQUENCES –
Liberty Clarke Fraysure and Nathan Henegar

Five college students go to an abandoned cabin in the woods, and accidentally unleash an evil force that turns them all into demons. It’s all up to Ash (a housewares employee, turned demon killing hero), and his trusty chainsaw to save the day. Blood flies. Limbs are dismembered. Demons are telling bad jokes… and all to music.
EVIL DEAD is NOT a musical suitable for children.  This show is intended for mature audiences and contains adult language and situations.

VP Seeks Stage Manager

Angela Klocke Forbes, playwright and director of the family-friendly comedy, Santa Spikes the Eggnog (and Other Family Secrets) is in search of an experienced stage manager.

Important dates to consider:

  • Auditions: September 28 & 29, 2014
  • Production: December 5, 6, 7, 12, 13, 14, 2014
  • Rehearsals: TBD; evenings, approximately 3 times per week beginning late October.

Ideally, stage manager would assist at auditions and attend all (or almost all) rehearsals. However, willing to consider a stage manager who would attend blocking rehearsals and the final three weeks of rehearsals only. Stage manager will call the show and have authority regarding the house during tech week and production dates. And a promise: it will be fun!
