The Educational Theatre Association (EdTA) seeks a highly-skilled executive level leader to direct the newly formed Education & Content team.

The Educational Theatre Association is a national nonprofit organization based in Cincinnati, OH with approximately 100,000 student and professional members. EdTA’s mission is shaping lives through theatre education by: honoring student achievement in theatre and enriching their theatre education experience; supporting teachers by providing professional development, networking opportunities, resources, and recognition; and influencing public opinion that theatre education is essential and builds life skills. • Drive EdTA’s expertise and professional reputation, enhancing the performance and positioning of the EdTA brand across markets and external public and private constituencies.
  • Provide strategic direction and implementation oversight to brand advancement activities including logo/mark, marketing collateral, and publications.
  • Provide strategic direction to conferences and educational events with the goal of maximizing participation and satisfaction and improving efficiency of operations.
  • Provide leadership and vision to develop and deploy the direction of the digital content in conjunction with EdTA’s Director of Technology and Director of Publications.
  • Drive organizational alignment across independent business lines and improve workflow and collaboration.

Actress Needed for Role of Lenny in CRIMES OF THE HEART at Stagecrafters

SC_logoSadly, I just found out that the actress that I had cast in the role of ‘Lenny’ in CRIMES OF THE HEART has to drop the role for personal reasons. I am going to miss working with her. However, that has opened up a part in the show.

Here are the particulars: Rehearsals begin with a read-thru on March 10, Tuesday in a rehearsal facility in Oakley. Show opens May 9, Saturday in Sharonville. Rehearsals divided into modified French Scenes (entrances only), and will be held, in general, TU-TH-FR at 7p, and SU at 2p.

The actress will not need to be at all rehearsals until some time in April when we start working full acts, but will need to be available for 4-6 Rehearsals in March. Playing age is 30. Stagecrafters is the producing theatre. I am posting this here, mainly because I do not know who is working in what shows.

The person in the role will have to be committed primarily to this show (meaning not having other show conflicts…I know you all think you can do it, but I would rather not have to worry about it).. Please PM me or email at morehead71@gmail.com if interested

Shakespeare Competition Judges Needed

ESU_logoDue to pending weather conditions, the annual Shakespeare Competition semi-finals for area high school students, which was originally scheduled to be held tomorrow (Saturday, 2/21) at Playhouse in the Park has been postponed until next Saturday, 2/28.  The finals, to be held at Cincinnati Shakespeare Company, have been postponed to Saturday, March 7.  Unfortunately, several of the people who had agreed to serve as volunteer judges for this competition are not able to work around the changed dates.  Our hope is that the good people in our community theatre network will step up and step in.

The approximate times are as follows:

  • Semi-Finals: Saturday, February 28, 8AM – 2PM, Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park
  • Finals: Saturday, March 7, 10AM – 3PM, Cincinnati Shakespeare Company

If you are willing to serve as a judge and would like more information, please contact Janice Flanagan at jlfkatie@msn.com.
