Although great storytelling is not limited to true, personal stories, True Theatre believes that these real moments of our lives, from the mundane to the extraordinary, give both the speaker AND the listener the ultimate sense of being part of a larger community than they were aware.

Come join us for an evening of True Theatre …where time slows down and we can listen.

CANCELLED DUE TO INCLEMENT WEATHER

True Theatre has become a phenomenon in Cincinnati, regularly playing to sold out audiences with curated collections of stories told by regular, untrained people with something unforgettable to say. For this special, one-night only edition of True Theatre the curators have gathered stories from a cross-section of people who have made the CAC what it is today. From the attorney who defended the organization against charges of obscenity and the man whose name is on the building, to those allowed to touch the art, get brides to glide down the stairs and turn audiences into artists, you’ll discover a whole new side of an organization that just turned 75. Truly.

trueLIES on Jan. 26

It was said that George Washington could not tell a lie and Abraham Lincoln was known as “Honest Abe”.  The past X-number of decades, however, have taught us that honesty is not necessarily a pre-requisite for the job anymore, so who knows?  …we might have a future president on our stage for this show where lies spin out of control and make things worse or, seemingly make them better.  But whatever you do, please don’t condemn our storytellers.  What is a lie and what is truth is not always so easy to discern.

The mission of True Theatre is to bring together a wide variety of people to share stories in an effort to create community, encourage discussion, and remind everyone that ALL of us have stories to tell with unique insights and broad appeal.
