Guitarist Needed for DADDY LONG LEGS at Sunset Players

SSP_logoHello friends!

I am directing and music directing an upcoming production of DADDY LONG LEGS with Sunset Players and find myself still in need of a guitarist, acoustic 6 and 12 string (could all be played on 6 string if the additional 12-string isn’t workable). The orchestra rehearsals are coming up this week and I’m hoping to find someone soon. If you, or someone you know, is interested in playing the show please have them contact me by email, alindsey@gmail.com, or preferably by phone or text at 513.582.7512.

There is a stipend available for the performances.

The dates involved are April 17 and 19, orchestra rehearsal, April 30 (tech Sunday) May 2-4 (tech runs and final dress|) then the performances on May 5 & 6, 12, 13, 14, and 18-20.

All rehearsals would start at 7 PM and go to 10 PM at the very latest. The only TBA date is 4/30, but most likely that will fall into the same time frame.

Performances times are:

  • May 5, 8PM Show/7:15 call
  • May 6, 8PM Show/7:15 call
  • May 12 7PM Show/6:15 call
  • May 13 8PM Show/7:15 call
  • May 14 8PM Show/7:15 call
  • May 18 8PM Show/7:15 call
  • May 19 8PM Show/7:15 call
  • May 20 2PM Show/1:15 call

MPI_Tom StoryFrom Legacy Remembers

Thomas Joseph Storey passed away on January 28, 2023 after a long illness.  He leaves behind his dear wife of 65 years, Nancy Ann (nee Moore) and many loving nieces, nephews, friends and family members.

Tom was born on September 6, 1935 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio and graduated from Elder High School in 1952.  He earned a degree in Broadcasting from the College-Conservatory of Music (CCM) and went on to a 47 year career as Program Administrator for WLW-T Television in downtown Cincinnati.

At the same time, Tom became well-known as a director and actor in both community and professional theatre in the area.  He and Nancy Ann met through The Bellarmine Players and together they worked in such theatres as The Drama Workshop, Edgecliff Theater, Mariemont Players, The Village Players of Ft. Thomas, Knox Drama Workshop, Stagecrafters, Cincinnati Music Theater, Footlighters, The IF Theater Collective, Sunset Players and Wyoming Players.  His acting roles ranged from John Proctor in ‘The Crucible’ to Clarence Darrow in ‘Never the Sinner’ to Al Lewis in ‘The Sunshine Boys’.

Tom won multiple awards for acting and directing through his career and he and Nancy Ann in 2020 were honored as recipients of The Art Rouse Award from ACT-Cincinnati, given annually in recognition for ongoing contributions to area theatre.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Cecilia Church, 3105 Madison Road, Cincinnati, OH  45209 on Friday, February 3, 2023 at 10:30 am.  In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you donate to a charity of your choice in Tom’s honor.
