Auditions Announced for SSW’s ROMEO & JULIET on Jan. 12-13

Directed by Lisa Howard-Welch

The director is seeking 10 to 14 Company members, aged 18 and older for this production. Some actors may be cast in multiple roles and some roles may be cut or adjusted. Many roles are open to both male or female auditionees.

WHEN:
OPEN SESSIONS
-Monday, January 12th 6:30 to 10pm
-Tuesday, January 13th 6:30 to 8pm
-Wednesday, January 14th TBA, if required

CALLBACKS

-Tuesday, January 13th 8:00 to 10:30pm

ADDITIONAL AUDITION SESSIONS

-For those who are not able to attend one of the above sessions, we will be scheduling individual appointments, beginning January 5th. Please contact the director to arrange a specific audition time.

Registration begins at 6pm each night. Please arrive early to complete paperwork.

WHAT TO BRING:

  • Actors new to StageWorks should prepare a one minute monologue from Shakespeare (any play.)
  • All actors should be prepared to read from the script.
  • Resume (or list of previous experience) and photos are recommended, but not required.
  • All actors should bring a list of conflicts detailing scheduling issues between January 26th through April 12th and June 25th through July 5th.
  • The show requires various forms of stage combat, music and some dance at the ball. If you have any experience in any of these genres, please be prepared to share this with us.

PRODUCTION INFORMATION:
April 2nd to April 11th, 2015 at the State Theatre

Additional performance on July 5th, 2015 at Veteran’s Park Amphitheater during the Springfield Summer Arts Festival.

REHEARSAL INFORMATION:
Rehearsals will be held at the State Theatre in Springfield beginning in late January / early February. They will be scheduled 3 times per week, according to the conflicts given by actors at auditions.
