Applicants Sought for Creative Arts Scholarship at Loveland Stage Company

LSC_logoEach year the Loveland Stage Company recognizes a graduating high school student with its Creative Arts Scholarship.

The Loveland Stage Company is offering a scholarship again this year in the amount of $1,000. In order to qualify for the scholarship, the graduating student must reside in the Loveland City School District, attend Loveland High School, or be an offspring of a Loveland Stage Company member. This scholarship is intended to be used toward college or university tuition, room and board, or books.

The Loveland Stage Company wishes to encourage and support young local talent. Therefore, prospective applicants must be planning to further their education in the Creative Arts. Qualifying areas of study include, but are not limited to: art, music, theater, photography, film, dance, and majors that support these studies. Students are asked to submit examples of their talent in their chosen field and a high school transcript demonstrating the ability to succeed academically as part of the application process.

Applications, which can be found on the Loveland Stage Company website, are due no later than Sunday, March 10, 2024.

  • Auditions will be held December 2nd from 2pm-5pm & December 3rd from 6pm-9pm at the theater. Call backs will be on December 4th at 6pm.
  • Please prepare a brief song- 24-36 bars that shows your vocal range- please NO dialects, accents or character voices in song selection. No accompanist will be provided but a bluetooth speaker will be available or you may sing acapella.
  • Please bring shoes appropriate for dancing as you will be asked to learn a brief dance combination.

BIG FISH is a musical based on the novel by Daniel Wallace and the movie by Tim Burton. It tells the story of Edward Bloom, a traveling salesman who tells incredible and larger-than-life stories that thrill everyone around him, including his devoted wife Sandra. However, his son Will, who is about to have a child of his own, wants to find out the truth behind his father’s tales. The musical is a heartwarming and humorous experience that reminds us of the importance of loving each other for who we are, and just why we love going to the theatre – to see big tales!
