Actor Needed for Hoke in DRIVING MISS DAISY at La Comedia Dinner Theatre

LAC_logoLa Comedia is seeking an african-american male for the following role in DRIVING MISS DAISY.

Hoke Coleburn: 40 – 60 African-American Male. Daisy’s chauffeur. Quiet, dignified, wise, with a warm sense of humor. Ages 20 years throughout the course of the play.

Auditions will consist of readings from the script.

Please provide a current headshot and resume.

Director is Chris Beiser
Rehearsals begin August 6, 2018. Performances August 23 – September 23. Non Equity. This role is PAID!

With equal measures of pluck and positivity, little orphan Annie charms everyone’s hearts despite a next-to-nothing start in 1930s New York City. She is determined to find her parents who abandoned her years ago on the doorstep of a New York City Orphanage run by the cruel, embittered Miss Hannigan. With the help of the other girls in the Orphanage, Annie escapes to the wondrous world of NYC. In adventure after fun-filled adventure, Annie foils Miss Hannigan’s evil machinations and even befriends President Franklin Delano Roosevelt. She finds a new home and family in billionaire Oliver Warbucks, his personal secretary Grace Farrell, and a lovable mutt named Sandy.

Young Girl Auditions for ANNIE at La Comedia Dinner Theatre

LAC_logoGirls ages 6 to 13 looking for outstanding theatre experience are encouraged to attend auditions to play Little Orphan Annie or six other orphans in La Comedia Dinner Theatre’s summer production of the musical ANNIE.

Auditions will be held Saturday, April 7, 2018, at La Comedia Dinner Theatre, 765 W. Central Ave., Springboro, Ohio. Please enter through the front doors of the theatre. All auditionees should arrive at 8:30 a.m. and be ready to audition starting at 9:00 a.m.

Auditionees should bring a recent photo and a resume outlining theatrical experience, school, hobbies, and other interests. Each girl should prepare a song to sing that is NOT from ANNIE. YOU MUST BRING YOUR OWN SHEET MUSIC. NO TAPE RECORDED MUSIC PLEASE. A pianist will be provided. Each girl should also be prepared to sing “Tomorrow” from the show and be ready to learn a dance combination.

The show performances are from June 28 to August 19, 2018. Rehearsals begin June 11, 2018. The show performances are Thursday through Sunday with matinees on Thursday, Friday and Sunday. There is no monetary compensation provided, only the opportunity to gain excellent experience with professional actors. The children will be double cast. All other information will be given at the auditions.

This audition is for young girls only.

The meek floral assistant Seymour stumbles across a new breed of plant he names “Audrey II” – after his coworker crush. This R&B-singing carnivore promises unending fame and fortune to the down and out Seymour as long as he keeps feeding it, BLOOD. Over time, Seymour discovers Audrey II’s out of this world origins and intent towards global domination!
