Auditions Announced for VAS YOU EVER IN ZINZINNATI PADDY? at Irish American Theater Company

IATC_logoThe Irish American Theater Company (IATC) will hold auditions for their up and coming fall musical VAS YOU EVER IN ZINZINNATI PADDY? on June 19th & 20th and June 26th – 28th by appointment only.

This is a New Musical written by William H.A. Williams award winning playwright of “Thou it Were Ten Thousand Miles,” “Maggie Murphy’s Home,” and more. The piece is directed by Maureen A. Kennedy, Artistic Director and founder of the IATC.

The IATC has been honored with accolades & is recipient of many Best Of awards over the years. The company travels yearly for the Acting Irish International Theatre Festival in addition to performing locally.

Set in the 1890’s German and the Irish immigrants learn to assimilate, and not always in expected ways. The high jinks that result will keep audiences entertained from beginning to end.

Full of fun, politics, drink and various themes of days gone by, the playwright’s story line is carried by singing, music, dance, and by story-telling / narration.

We are casting all roles, teens thru middle-agers, playing Americans, Irish and Germans.
There are 16 total parts, 11 of which are singing roles.

**Looking for a strong Irish Tenor and Stage Manger/Costumer/Set Designer/Lighting Designer too, plus chorus roles, a tuba player, and Irish and German dancers.

Show will be on September 22, 2018. The performance and rehearsals will be at the Irish Heritage Center of Cincinnati, 3905 Eastern Ave, Cincinnati, OH 45226.

Rehearsals begin in early August on week day evenings and on weekends during the daytime – the schedule will depend on the given role.

Actor Needed for FAITH at Irish American Theatre Company

iatc_irish-theatre-festival-logoThe Irish American Theatre Company, needs your help! Our show is called FAITH, it’s a new play by Irish playwright, Paul Meade. We held the national premiere of the play in January as part of the First Irish Theatre Festival. I have had an actor drop out and I am in desperate need of a replacement.

The play is about a middle aged man who is dealing with a lot of middle aged issues- he’s lost his job, he’s trying to run the household, he feels he has no control over his life, and on top of all of that, he’s battling depression. He meets a man who offers him a new job and outlook on life. The play follows the character’s (Michael) journey through his highs and lows. His battles with anxiety, depression, medication, and he gets caught between the two most important people in his life- his wife and his friend. Both want what’s best for him, but they forget to ask the most important person of all – Michael.

The play will run two shows in Cincinnati, May 18 and 19. Then we will take the show to the Acting Irish International Theatre Festival in Calgary, Canada. http://actingirish.com/ The admission to the festival, play tickets, and rooms (if staying with the other actors) are paid for. You will need to supply your own way to Canada. Calgary is about a 19hr drive from Cincy or a plane ticket.

Let me know if you are interested in this fantastic role. You can reach the director, Michelle Crowley, by my cell 859-750-6773.

Directed by Michelle Crowley

It all started with a card trick, or was it a flip of a coin? Michael hasn’t been himself since he lost his job, but a chance meeting turns his life upside down. As if losing his job, battling depression, and the approaching shadow of middle age, now he has to decide his next move: stay in the past or test the angels.
