Auditions Announced for HELLO, DOLLY! at Greater Hamilton Civic Theatre

Audition Information:

  • Please prepare a 60-90 second musical theater song that best displays your voice. An accompanist will be available and a bluetooth speaker w/ iphone adapter.
  • If you prefer to be featured as a DANCER please come to auditions and meet with our production team!   We seek dancers with classical experience/training.
  • Please bring a headshot and resume if you have one.
  • Please bring a list of conflicts to auditions. Conflicts given after casting may not be accepted.
  • The role of Rudolph has been cast as Sami Shabaan.
  • Rehearsals begin February 2/12 and run Sundays 3:00 – 6:30, Tuesdays & Thursdays 6:30 – 9:00. Wednesdays will be added in late March 6:30-9

Our production team is a diverse group of artists from all over Cincy/NKY. Performers of all races, gender identities, and abilities are encouraged to audition.

(Cast members do not have to be the actual ages of the characters but must look age appropriate and act accordingly.)

Roles include:

  • Mrs. Dolly Gallagher Levi (40-55) — A widow with an indefatigable hunger for life.
  • Horace Vandergelder (40-55) — Grumpy, funny, smart. A Saint Bernard exterior with a heart of gold.
  • Cornelius Hackl (33) — Vandergelder’s naïve chief clerk, 33 years old and never kissed a girl.
  • Barnaby Tucker (17) — An assistant to Cornelius, 17 years old and never kissed a girl.
  • Mrs. Irene Molloy (30-35) — A young widow hungry for love and adventure in New York City.
  • Minnie Fay (17-22) — A young girl who works for Irene’s Shop. Supreme comic timing.
  • Ermengarde (17) — The 17-year-old niece of Horace Vandergelder. Strong dancer and comedic timing.
  • Ambrose Kemper (17-21) — An artist seeking to marry Ermengarde. Strong dancer and comedic timing.
  • Ernestina (30-50) — A single woman in need of Mrs. Levi’s services. A wild and free spirit for 1899.
  • Numerous roles will be cast throughout the ENSEMBLE. Seeking strong singer/dancers and performers with unique talents!

Roles Available:

CORIE BRATTER – early to mid 20s, new wife to Paul Bratter, free-spirited optimist, longs for new adventures, impractical, attempting to decorate her and Paul’s new apartment, attempts to set up her mother and Victor

PAUL BRATTER – mid to late 20s, dour, straight-laced lawyer, dislikes their small, uncomfortable apartment, concerned with practical matters, would prefer a more staid lifestyle than Corie

MOTHER (ETHEL BANKS) – late 40s, Corie’s widowed mother, lives a boring life, tends to complain a great deal about anything new and about her bodily ailments

VICTOR VELASCO – late 50s, Corie and Paul’s eccentric, womanizing upstairs neighbor who is a gourmet cook, shares Corie’s sense of fun and adventure

TELEPHONE REPAIR MAN – mid-30s, tall, heavy-set

DELIVERY MAN – early 60s (NON-SPEAKING)
