Remainder of Season Cancelled at Cincinnati Men’s Chorus

CMC_logoThe Board of Directors of the Cincinnati Men’s Chorus has been continuously monitoring the situation surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic. We have been reviewing the state updates and guidelines, along with information provided by various choruses, organizations and experts as well as attending webinars that relate to organizations like ours rehearsing and performing during the COVID crisis.

We had hoped to return in mid-June to prepare for a combination of our cancelled Spring Concert and our June/Pride Concert God Save the Dancing Queens to be performed late August. At this moment, while the overall conditions have improved, public orders currently prevent our singers and artistic staff from safely assembling to prepare for and perform this concert.

The health and safety of our singers, staff, and audience are of the utmost importance. With the uncertainty surrounding the resumption of public gatherings, it is with a heavy heart that the Board of the Cincinnati Men’s Chorus has decided to cancel the remainder of the season.

While we will not be able to perform live, we will be producing content to commemorate Pride month and to continue our mission to support and nurture our members; entertain our audiences; and work for justice, inclusion and harmony between the LGBTQ+ community and the community at large. Please be sure to visit our website and follow us on Facebook to keep up with the latest news and exciting content and updates on our upcoming 30th anniversary season.

42nd Season Postponed to March 2021 at Middletown Lyric Theatre

MLT_logoTHE SHOWS WILL GO ON….eventually

Since the Pandemic we have adjusted, changed and rearranged shows, dates and auditions multiple times. With the future still unsure, the Board of Directors has made the decision to postpone the 42nd Season until March 2021.

When we are confident that we can proceed, without change, we will announce the season and its dates.

If the State lifts enough restrictions to offer our patrons and artists a rewarding theatrical experience we will schedule a variety of performance opportunities in the fall.

Please visit our website: middletownlyric.org or our Facebook page for information as it becomes available.

Stage Dark into 2021 for Mason Community Players

MCP_sm logoThe challenges that have become a reality to the world during 2020 have affected the Mason Community Players. The members of MCP are concerned for all who are affected by COVID-19. Their hearts go out to all those families who have lost loved ones, to those who have survived the disease only to have long term physical challenges, and to those who are struggling financially.

In response to directives to address the health crisis, MCP postponed its May show, You Have the Right to Remain Dead hoping to produce it in the summer.

During that period, the landlord of Theatre 42 found it necessary to sell the property. In order to vacate in time, it was necessary to cancel plans for any summer show. And the search for a new venue, which had begun in February of this year, now became even more critical.

To be able to concentrate on finding a new venue for the troupe, the MCP Board of Directors made the decision to postpone the 2020-2021 Season, which was to begin July 2020, to the following year. The 2021-2022 Season will begin with Annie, Get Your Gun in July 2021. That show will be followed by The Yellow Boat in Fall 2021, The Calendar Girls in Winter 2022, and Moon Over Buffalo in Spring 2022. Dates and details for each show will be determined after the acquisition of a new venue and discussions with the directors.

You Have the Right to Remain Dead will not be produced at this time. MCP is not abandoning the show and will work to produce the show in the future.

This means that MCP will not be taking the stage for a year. We will, however, continue to grow as an organization until we can entertain our audiences once again. There is a tradition in the theatre to “keep the ghost light on.” It means that there will always be one light on in the theatre until the next time that someone enters the theatre space. Until MCP enters our new theatre space and we take the stage again in 2021, we will keep the ghost light burning. We hope that you will be there with us.

May you be healthy! May the future be bright!
