AL DURA: TRUTH OR DECEPTION?
Written by Kalman Kivkovich

Synopsis:
Loosely based on a tragic incident in the Middle East, and a follow-up notorious round of court battle in Paris, France.

On September 30, 2000, France 2 TV broadcast footage of a shootout in Gaza, zooming in on a Palestinian father and his 12-year-old son taking cover behind a concrete drum. According to the report, filmed by a Palestinian reporter for the state-run French network, the boy, Mohammed al Dura, was gunned down by the Israeli forces . . . but was he really . . . ? What you hear from the media is not always the truth, and too often the media become the NEWS. . . .

Actor Needed for Staged Reading

LIFE AFTER GOD, the next CPI New Voices presentation, is looking for a male actor to step in to the role of Mark. A description is below. Looking for someone who fits the description, though would be willing to work with someone who isn’t a “perfect” match. As this is a staged reading, there is little memorization and only a couple of rehearsals to learn some basic blocking. The performance is Tuesday, Nov. 8 at 7:30 PM. If interested, please contact the director, Thurman Allen, via e-mail: microserf88@yahoo.com.

Mark – age: 28-35. Healthy and strong, Mark is described as having “Chippendale-like” good looks. A broker in a large firm, he is also dealing with having tested HIV positive.
