Free CPI Public Cold Reading of a New Play on Sept. 23

Date: Sunday, September 23, 2012, 7:00 PM (CPI SALON)

Sponsored by Cincinnati Playwrights Initiative (CPI).

Viewer discretion advised – Adult language.

Q&A segment will follow the reading.

We have a good group of actors who will read the script.

The venue is FREE, but we ask guests to bring appetizers or beverages to share.

Location: 2815 commons Way, (45219) – French Hall on UC Campus. Room 2225 (ground floor).

Mom tries to keep peace between contrasting adult sisters. She suffers a stroke, however, and her care becomes an issue–and, for one sister, a redemptive opportunity. Conflicting needs complicate the lives of all three women, and muddy everyone’s efforts to “do the right thing.”

Written and directed by Charlie Goetz

CPI Announces Cast of THE BEST INTENTIONS

It is my great honor to announce the cast of THE BEST INTENTIONS – Cincinnati Playwright’s Initiative’s Best of New Voices!

  • chessie Vigran as Ruth Kinnley
  • Erin Durkin as Rose Kinnley
  • Linda Wylie as Rita Kinnley
  • Marcus Jackson as David Stevens
  • Max Scove as the Boy

The Road to Hell is paved with good intentions…Mom tries to keep the peace between contrasting adult sisters. NORTHERN KENTUCKY UNIVERSITY

CHARACTERS

  • Ruth Kinnley: 70-80, mother retired school teacher. (Piano skills a plus)
  • Rita Kinnley: 45, elder daughter, brainy.
  • Rose Kinnley: 30-40, younger daughter, Alcoholic “wrecked beauty.”
  • Altar Boy: 10-12

 

PREPARE:

  • 90 SECOND SERIOUS CONTEMPORARY MONOLOGUE
  • BRING HEAD SHOT AND RESUME

Due to construction at NKU, please follow these directions when you arrive at NKU:
Park in the lot nearest to the fountain. Head for the fountain. Between the Steely Library and the Fine Arts Building there is a staircase that leads up to the plaza level. When you reach the plaza level, turn left. Enter the Fine Arts Building at the second door on the left. Turn right at the first corridor. Room 307 will be on your left.
