Human Resources Manager Sought at Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park

The Cincinnati Playhouse seeks a qualified individual to serve as its inaugural Human Resources Manager. The position will be a member of the Playhouse’s senior staff and reports directly to the Artistic and Managing Directors. The Human Resources Manager is a full-time, full-year exempt salaried position.

Job Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Manage all human resources functions including employee relations, training and development, and benefits.
  • Oversee the administration and compliance requirements of all employee benefit programs, including healthcare, dental, life, disability, 401k and 403b pension plans, and other voluntary supplemental plans.
  • Supervise Payroll Specialist.
  • Manage all aspects of payroll processing and reporting for both union and non-union employees.
  • Administer Affordable Care Act compliance and reporting.
  • Administer Workers Compensation and Unemployment Insurance, policies and claims.
  • Recommend policies and procedures for and update employee personnel manuals.
  • Act as liaison to Board’s Human Resources Committee.
  • Oversee processes for recruiting, hiring, on-boarding, training and termination.
  • Coordinate performance review process, working with supervisors to provide effective appraisals.
  • Ensure compliance and maintain all employee files.
  • Serve as a permanent member of Playhouse Safety Committee.
  • Represent the Playhouse on the Governing Board for the Arts Alliance Multi-Employer Health Care Plan.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration or human resources management or equivalent professional experience; certification at PHR, SPHR preferred
  • Three to five years professional experience, including human resources management and supervisory experience
  • Experience with coaching, strategic people planning and conflict resolution
  • Familiarity and demonstrated ability to administer/comply with all current state and federal labor laws
  • Strong interpersonal skills with emphasis on employee relations
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple projects with competing demands while maintaining commitment to excellence
  • Ability to adhere to strict confidentiality requirements and exercise good judgment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications: Word, Excel, Outlook; experience with payroll software, Paycor preferred
  • Communicates using English language
  • Experience working in the not-for-profit sector and/or the arts preferred

Compensation/Benefits:

Community Engagement Manager Sought at Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park

The Community Engagement Manager is responsible for building and maintaining positive relationships with a range of community organizations, individuals and networks and working collaboratively to design strategies to engage the community deeper into the work of Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park. This role reports to the Director of Education and the Director of Marketing and works closely with the Education, Marketing and Artistic departments to develop and implement engagement programs for the artistic programs at the Playhouse.

Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Manage the administration and execution of engagement projects as assigned.
  • Manage the implementation of the budget and expenses for each program.
  • Identify new partners and manage communication with existing community partners.
  • As part of the engagement team, work in collaboration to design community engagement strategy and activities each season.
  • Schedule and train staff for community outreach events and festivals.
  • Train tour casts on Off the Hill engagement activities and procedures.
  • Participate in offsite programs and events, such as Off the Hill and community events.
  • Oversee implementation of audience and community engagement programs/strategies determined by the engagement team and supervisors.

General Schedule:
Position is full-time, exempt, with days and times that flex as events and programs require. Nights and weekends are required for events. Position works Monday through Friday during non-event weeks; Tuesday through Saturday when there are full-day events on Saturday; and Wednesday through Sunday when there are full-day events on Saturday and Sunday.

Requirements:

  • Experience with program management
  • Strong communication skills
  • Comfort with Microsoft Office
  • Experience with community and audience engagement
  • Demonstrated ability in partner development
  • Experience with community playmaking and workshops a plus
  • Ability to lift 25 pounds

Finance Manager Sought at Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park

The Cincinnati Playhouse seeks a qualified individual to serve as its Finance Manager. The position will be a member of the Playhouse’s senior staff and reports directly to the Artistic and Managing Directors. The Finance Manager is a full-time, full-year exempt salaried position.

Job Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Oversee all financial operations for the Playhouse, including all accounting and cash management.
  • Maintain general ledger and permanent and restricted asset schedules.
  • Manage all internal and external financial reporting, including monthly financial statements, annual statements for the audit and all necessary grant proposal and reporting.
  • Work with Managing Director to create annual operating budget and monthly financial projections.
  • Establish and revise as necessary all accounting procedures.
  • Serve as principal liaison for Endowment Fund managers.
  • Supervise one full-time and one part-time finance associate and full time receptionist.
  • Staff the Board’s Finance Committee and serve as principal liaison for Board’s Audit Committee.
  • Gather and report data for annual audit.
  • Assist auditors in the completion of 990 return.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or accounting or equivalent professional experience
  • Five+ years of finance experience in not-for-profit accounting required, CPA preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software: Excel, Word, Outlook
  • Working knowledge of Great Plains Accounting, Tessitura and FRX or Management Reporter preferred
  • Strong organizational and analytic skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple projects with competing demands while maintaining commitment to excellence
  • Ability to adhere to strict confidentiality requirements and exercise good judgment
  • Experience with capital campaigns a plus

CINCINNATI BALLET, CINCINNATI PLAYHOUSE IN THE PARK, ENSEMBLE THEATRE CINCINNATI AND THE CHILDREN’S THEATRE OF CINCINNATI RETURN FOR THE HOLIDAYS WITH THE CHARACTER CREW

(CINCINNATI) – Cincinnati Ballet, Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park, Ensemble Theatre Cincinnati and The Children’s Theatre of Cincinnati are joining together once again to spread holiday cheer across the Tristate with a number of special character appearances beginning Nov. 14.

Characters from Cincinnati Ballet’s classic Frisch’s Presents The Nutcracker; Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park’s 25th annual production of A Christmas Carol, presented by U.S. Bank; Ensemble Theatre Cincinnati’s holiday production of Cinderella, sponsored by Macy’s; and The Children’s Theatre of Cincinnati’s production of A Charlie Brown Christmas, also sponsored by Macy’s, will come together at holiday events around the city from mid-November through Nov. 29.

The Character Crew will make appearances at the following holiday attractions:

  • Saturday, Nov. 14 (11 a.m. to 1 p.m.): Greater Cincinnati Holiday Market, Duke Energy Convention Center
  • Friday, Nov. 20 (5 to 7 p.m.): Festival of Lights Members’ Preview, Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden
  • Friday, Nov. 27 (11 a.m. to 1 p.m.): Tree Lighting and Santa Arrival, Cincinnati Museum Center at Union Terminal
  • Saturday, Nov. 28 (2 to 4 p.m.): Crafty Supermarket, Music Hall
  • Saturday, Nov. 28 (5:30 to 7 p.m.): Macy’s Downtown Dazzle, Fountain Square
