[title of show]
Warsaw Federal Incline Theater
Sept. 29-Oct. 16
East Price Hill

Directed by Mike Sherman
Music directed by Jacob Priddy
Choreographed by Jay Goodlett

Cast: Noah Berry as Hunter, Hunter Henrickson as Jeff, Lindsey Augusta Mercer as Heidi & Erin McCamley as Susan

Takes its name from the space on the theater festival’s application form.  It follows Hunter and Jeff and their friends as they brave the gauntlet of self-expression – writing a musical.  In the course of the show, they write and perform their creation at the festival and learn lessons about themselves as people, friends and artists.  [Title of Show] is, above all, a love letter to the musical theatre-a uniquely American art form-and to the joy of collaboration.  The musical received a Tony Award nomination for Best Book of a Musical in 2009.

2017 Summer Classics Season Announced for Warsaw Federal Incline Theater

Third Summer Looks to Continue Growth with Classic Titles

WFIT_Sign at nightCincinnati Landmark Productions announced today its third Summer Classics Season at the region’s newest performing arts venue.

The 2017 Summer Classics Season, presented by TriHealth, includes:

  • DAMN YANKEES, May 24 – June 18
  • BLITHE SPIRIT, June 28 – July 23
  • THE DROWSY CHAPERONE, August 2-27

Each production in the 2017 Summer Classics Season runs for four weeks (Wednesday to Sunday). The theater expanded production runs from three weeks to four in 2016 to accommodate high ticket demand.

“We opened the theater to 45 straight sell-outs in the Summer Classics Season in 2015, serving over 10,000 patrons,” said Tim Perrino, Executive Artistic Director of Cincinnati Landmark Productions. “This summer we’ve already sold over 11,500 tickets. We’re delighted with the community support for this season and look forward to building on that and growing in 2017 with these wonderful titles.”

The Warsaw Federal Incline Theater is a brand new, purpose-built, 229-seat performing arts center and parking garage in the Incline District in East Price Hill. Located at the corner of Matson Place and West 8th Street, the $6 million project opened on June 3, 2015.

Subscriptions for the 2017 Summer Classics Season – only $72 – are now on sale. Subscribers to the 2016 Summer Classics Season have their seats held for renewal until March 10, 2017. All seats not renewed by that time will be released. Tickets to individual shows go on sale on April 17, 2017.

The Warsaw Federal Incline Theater is programmed year-round by Cincinnati Landmark Productions, culminating in over 120 show nights. In addition to the Summer Classics Season, the venue will host the four-show District Series season (September to May) designed to complement the Marquee season at the Covedale Center.

Cincinnati Landmark Productions has been serving the West Side for over 30 years – first through its Cincinnati Young People’s Theatre program and then through its ownership and management of the Covedale Center for the Performing Arts in West Price Hill. Since opening in 2002, the arts center quadrupled its subscribership. Attendance ballooned from 13,990 in the 2002-03 season to over 37,000 (representing over 300 zip codes) in the 2015-16 season.

More about the 2017 Summer Classics Season
at the Warsaw Federal Incline Theater:

DAMN YANKEES
May 24 – June 18, 2017
Music and Lyrics by Jerry Ross and Richard Adler; Book by Douglass Walop and George Abbott; Based on the novel “The Year The Yankees Lost the Pennant” by Douglass Wallop

Middle-aged baseball fanatic Joe Boyd trades his soul to the Devil, for a chance to lead his favorite team to victory in the pennant race against the New York Yankees. Transformed into young baseball sensation Joe Hardy, he leads the hapless Washington Senators to the final game for the pennant, only to realize the true worth of the life he’s left behind. Light, fast-paced and devilishly clever, Damn Yankees is a home-run hit featuring all-American subject matter and an irreverent sense of humor. Featuring classic songs like “Whatever Lola Wants (Lola Gets!),” “You Gotta Have Heart” and “Shoeless Joe from Hannibal, MO”, Damn Yankees is a wicked, romantic comedy – winner of 7 Tony Awards including Best Musical.

BLITHE SPIRIT
June 28 – July 23, 2017
Book by Noël Coward

The smash comedy hit of the London and Broadway stages concerns the socialite and novelist Charles Condomine, who invites the eccentric medium and clairvoyant, Madame Arcati, to his house to conduct a séance, hoping to gather material for his next book. The scheme backfires when she calls up the ghost of his annoying and temperamental first wife, Elvira! Elvira then hilariously haunts Charles’s marriage second wife, Ruth, who cannot see or hear the ghost! As things go wildly out of control, Charles will do anything to restore order in this world – and the next! The 2009 Broadway production won the Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Revival of a Play – and the Tony Award for Best Featured Actress: Angela Lansbury.

THE DROWSY CHAPERONE
August 2 – 27, 2017
Music and Lyrics by Lisa Lambert and Greg Morrison; Book by Bob Martin and Don McKellar

The Drowsy Chaperone is a loving send-up of the Jazz age musical featuring one show-stopping song and dance number after another. With the houselights down, a man in a chair appears on stage and puts on his favorite record: the cast recording of a fictitious 1928 musical, The Drowsy Chaperone. The show comes to life on stage as the man guides the audience through crazy plot and characters: two lovers on the eve of their wedding, a bumbling best man, a desperate theatre producer, a not so bright hostess, two gangsters posing as pastry chefs, a misguided Don Juan and an intoxicated chaperone – all mixed up in an evening of madcap delight. Featuring great songs like “I Don’t Wanna Show Off,” “Cold Feets” and “As we Stumble Along,” The Drowsy Chaperone is the winner of 5 Tony Awards (including Best Book and Best Original Score).
