An eclectic group of pubescent kids vie for the spelling championship of a lifetime. While candidly disclosing hilarious and touching stories from their home lives, the teens spell their way through a series of crazy words, hoping never to hear the soul-crushing, pout-inducing “ding” of the bell that signals a spelling mistake. Six spellers enter; one speller leaves triumphant! At least the losers get a juice box! Great songs, great characters, one hilarious night at the theater!

Master Class with Alex Pletikapich on June 30

MCP_Alex PletikapichCome Dance with Marymount Manhattan College’s  Alex Pletikapich.

Alex Pletikapich (he/him/his) is a New York City based performer. He was born and raised in West Chester, Ohio, and is an alum of Lakota East High School. While he did not begin performing until his freshman year of high school, he has been seen in productions at ROYAL Theatre Company (Frozen, Into the Woods) and the Cincinnati Actor’s Studio & Academy (Heathers, Spring Awakening, Cabaret).

Currently, Alex is in his final year at Marymount Manhattan College in the Musical Theatre Department. While at Marymount, he has been seen in Carrie and Life Under Water. Upcoming credits include The SpongeBob Musical at Marymount and Rock of Ages at Highlands Playhouse. Alex has worked with dance teachers/choreographers, such as Caitlin Abraham (La Cage aux Folles, Chicago, An American in Paris), Whitney Sprayberry (Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark, Jagged Little Pill). His choreography journey began in college with mentor Ian Gallagher Fitzgerald (Kinky Boots, Becoming Nancy, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel) and now acts as Fitzgerald’s assistant. Alex’s choreography combines styles of jazz, funk, musical theater, and most importantly, room for dancers to express themselves.
