Cat On A Hot Tin Roof
by Tennessee Williams
September 6 – 30, 2012

In a plantation house, a family celebrates the sixty-fifth birthday of its patriarch, Big Daddy. But the mood is tense, despite the festivities, as long-simmering evils poison the party. Greed, sins of the past and desperate clawing hopes for the future spar with one another as the knowledge that Big Daddy is dying slowly makes the rounds. A gripping and deeply moving play, “Cat” has held its own as a classic of the American theatre with brilliant scenes of lashing dramatic power.

Greg Procaccino, Director; Carissa Gandenberger, Stage Manager

The Will Rogers Follies
Book by Peter Stone
Music Composed and Arranged by Cy Coleman
Lyrics by Betty Comden and Adolph Green
October 18 – November 11, 2012

Will Rogers, the uniquely American humorist, philosopher and entertainer remains a beloved figure remembered for his laughter, and his just plain common sense. Famous for his line “I never met a man I didn’t like,” Rogers became the biggest, most popular, and highest paid star of every existing medium of his time. In fact, it is no exaggeration to say that he was one of the greatest stars this country has ever produced. Great songs like Never Met a Man I Didn’t Like and Give a Man Enough Rope are parables set to music. This one was the winner of six Tony Awards!

Ed Cohen, Co-Director; Dee Anne Bryll, Co-Director/Choreographer; Doug Schmutte, Music Director; Jordan Loyd, Stage Manager

Cinderella
Music by Rodgers, Richard
Book and Lyrics by Oscar Hammerstein II
November 29 – December 23, 2012

The timeless enchantment of this magical fairy tale is all dressed up on the Covedale stage as a Christmas fantasia, complete with the Prince’s Christmas Ball, Cinderella’s crystaline castle and a holiday romance that begins with a sparkling slipper! This is the famous Rodgers & Hammerstein version, originally presented on television in 1957 starring Julie Andrews. Our special Christmas edition will transport a new generation to the miraculous kingdom of dreams-come-true. The hearts of children and adults alike will soar when the slipper fits. Songs include: The Prince Is Giving A Ball, In My Own Little Corner, Do I Love You Because You’re Beautiful?, Impossible and many more.

Tim Perrino Director; Steve Goers, Music Director; Karie-Lee Sutherland, Choreographer; Ashley Bowman, Stage Manager.

Broadway Bound
By Neil Simon
January 24 – February 17, 2013

Part three of Neil Simon’s acclaimed autobiographical trilogy finds Eugene and his older brother Stanley trying to break into the world of show business as professional comedy writers while coping with their parents break-up and eventual divorce. When their material is broadcast on the radio for the first time, the family is upset to hear a thinly-veiled portrait of themselves played for laughs. A great follow-up to our hit production of Brighton Beach Memoirs two seasons ago.

Dennis Murphy, Director; Nicola Burgun, Stage Manager

Why Do Fools Fall In Love?
By Roger Bean
February 28 – March 24, 2013

Four girlfriends gather to celebrate an upcoming wedding. As the bachelorette party picks up steam and the drinks flow, the girls discover more about each others’ love lives than they had ever imagined. Featuring classic songs from the 1960s such as “My Boy Lollipop,” “I Will Follow Him,” “You Don’t Have to Say You Love Me,” “Hey There Lonely Boy” and many others including the title song, Why Do Fools Fall In Love?. In the end the show reaffirms that, during life’s struggles, friendship will unveil its everlasting strength—and does it with a rockin’ beat!

Dan Doerger Director; Greg Underwood Choreographer; Sherry McCamley, Music Director; Erin Meyer, Stage Manager

Legally Blonde

STEEL MAGNOLIAS
March 8 – April 1, 2012
By Robert Harling

Welcome to Truvy’s beauty salon in Chinquapin, Louisiana, where all the ladies who are “anybody” come to have their hair done. Helped by her eager new assistant, Annelle, the outspoken, wise-cracking Truvy dispenses shampoo and free advice to the town’s rich curmudgeon, Ouiser, an eccentric millionaire; Miss Clairee, who has a raging sweet tooth; and the local social leader, M’Lynn, whose daughter, Shelby is about to marry a “good ole boy.” Filled with hilarious repartee and not a few revealing verbal collisions, the play invokes knowing laughter and certain tears when the spunky Shelby risks her life for a child of her own.
