Founded in 2003 by Craig Martin, Classic Albums Live has become the ultimate destination for music lovers wanting to hear the world’s greatest rock albums from the ‘60s and ‘70s performed live on stage, note for note, cut for cut. Relying only on the music, using what Martin refers to as ‘the world’s best musicians’, Classic Albums Live has defined itself as a mainstay in Performing Arts Centers across North America. Since 2003, the series has garnered a stellar reputation for their note perfect recitals of classic albums, performing 100+ shows each year across North America.

“This has never been done before,” says series producer, Craig Martin. “There’s a real thirst to hear these albums performed start to finish. For many of us, this is the music we grew up with – the soundtrack of our lives.”

“All of our focus is put into the music,” says Martin. “We perform the works of the Beatles, Pink Floyd, and Led Zeppelin the same way an orchestra performs the works of Mozart. We don’t bother with imitation or impersonation. The bands are big – upwards of eleven pieces. We research these albums and go to great lengths to reproduce each and every sound live. We never use tape or computers. We’ll bring in a children’s choir, a sitar player, a string quartet, whatever it takes to get it right.”

Each album calls for a new group of musicians. “That’s the real challenge,” says Martin. “Finding the right musicians for the right album. So far, we’ve been bang-on with every performance.”

Released in March 1973, Pink Floyd’s The Dark Side of the Moon topped the Billboard Top LPs & Tapes chart for one week and remained on the charts for 741 weeks from 1973 to 1988, longer than any other album in history. With an estimated 45 million copies sold, it is Pink Floyd’s most commercially-successful album and one of the best-selling albums worldwide. In addition to its commercial success, The Dark Side of the Moon is one of Pink Floyd’s most popular albums among fans and critics, and is frequently ranked as one of the greatest rock albums of all time.

Trey Songz.

Los Angeles, CA – He has the ability to have people on their feet dancing non-stop around the globe. His soulful, sultry serenades have placed him in the company of some of the greatest R&B voices of our time. He has shared the stage with musical icons from every musical genre existing today and he has been able to deliver songs that time and time again have risen to the top of the charts. He is Grammy nominated multifaceted singer-songwriter, rapper, producer Trey Songz. The late, great Atlantic Records founder Ahmet Ertegun once declared Trey to be “among the most promising R&B artists we have had on Atlantic since we started the company 60 years ago.” Today, Trey is easily making that come true with every endeavor he undertakes.

Up next for Trey is the The Anticipation 2our. The tour is being presented and promoted by AEG LIVE. It stars Trey Songz and features G.O.O.D. Music/Island Def Jam recording artist, Big Sean. The tour kicks off February 6 in Cleveland and gives fans a chance to get up close and personal with Trey in intimate theatres across the country. The tour plays the Aronoff Center’s Procter and Gamble Hall on Thursday, February 23 at 7:30 PM. Tickets go on sale on Friday, January 20 at 10:00 AM at http://www.CincinnatiArts.ORG, (513) 621-ARTS [2787], and the Aronoff Center Ticket Office.

The name for The Anticipation 2our comes from the title of one of Trey’s mixtape albums that was released in November. It also signals the fact that Trey has been able to position himself where fans everywhere are eagerly and anxiously anticipating what he will do next and what he will have to offer the world musically. Trey is embarking on the tour in support of his highly anticipated new EP “INEVITABLE,” which is in stores now. The first single is “WHAT I BE ON” featuring Fabolous.

Trey is unquestionably one of the most sought after entertainers in the industry. Undoubtedly, his music and movement characterizes the voice and thoughts of his generation. He effortlessly displays his vocal dexterity while simultaneously relaying complex emotional depth and power. Through his repertoire of work, he has been able to differentiate himself distinctly from others, putting him in a class by himself.

About Trey Songz
Trey’s debut album, “I GOTTA MAKE IT,” was released in 2005, followed by “TREY DAY” in 2007 and “READY” in 2009. “PASSION, PAIN & PLEASURE” was Trey’s follow up to the RIAA gold certified smash, “READY.” From the bouncy first single, “Bottoms Up (Feat. Nicki Minaj),” to the chart-topping, record breaking #1 Hip Hop and R&B single, “Can’t Be Friends,” “PASSION, PAIN & PLEASURE” was Certified Gold, with over 4 million album tracks sold. The success of “PASSION, PAIN & PLEASURE” laid the groundwork for Trey’s highly anticipated new CD “CHAPTER V.” “CHAPTER V” saw the Virginia-based R&B superstar energized and evolving as he continued to refine his mastery of sultry, soulful song craft.

An assortment of major awards followed, including the prestigious title of “Best Male R&B Artist” at the 2010 BET Awards. That triumph capped an extraordinary year that included touring as both headliner and special guest on Jay-Z’s massive “BP3 Tour 2010,” numerous TV appearances, and star-studded recording sessions like Lionel Richie and Quincy Jones’ new version of “We Are The World,” benefiting Haitian earthquake relief organizations. All that and more was documented in Trey’s hugely popular docu-series, “My Moment.” An unqualified ratings sensation, the 10-part BET documentary provided an exclusive window into Trey’s life and career, chronicling everything up to and including the making of the new album.

About Big Sean
Big Sean met Kanye West after a radio interview in 2005 and got a chance to display his talent by freestyling for West. After months of submitting songs and numerous meetings, Sean finally got the call from Kanye West himself saying that he wanted to sign him. Big Sean officially signed to G.O.O.D Music in 2007 and Island Def Jam in 2008. Sean has three mixtapes under his belt, “Finally Famous – The Mixtape”, “UKNOWBIGSEAN – Finally Famous Vol. 2” and “Finally Famous Vol. 3: BIG”. Sean’s hit single “Getcha Some” vastly took over the internet and created major buzz for him and quickly solidified him as a breakout star. The single first debuted on Kanye West’s “Can’t Tell Me Nothin’ Mixtape.”

Big Sean released his debut album entitled “Finally Famous” in June of this year. The album features Hip Hop stars such as ten-time Grammy Award-winning artist Kanye West, Pharrell, The Dream, and many more. “Marvin Gaye and Chardonnay,“ a song from his debut album featuring Kanye West, gained international recognition after trending worldwide on Twitter in June 2011. Soon after its release, Sean’s collaboration with Chris Brown, “My Last” reached #1 on the Billboard Hip Hop charts. Currently, his new single “Dance” with Nicki Minaj is blazing the charts.

THE OVERTURE AWARDS
The Overture Awards is the largest locally run arts scholarship competition in the country. The program annually provides a $2,500 scholarship to six area high school students for education and training, with 18 finalists each winning a $500 scholarship. Each year, more than 450 students are nominated by their schools to compete in one of six artistic disciplines: Creative Writing, Dance, Instrumental Music, Theater, Visual Art or Vocal Music. There are three levels of competition: Regional, Semi-Finals and Final.

The Overture Awards was developed to recognize, encourage and reward excellence in the arts among Tri-state students in grades 9-12. It also provides students an opportunity to share their talents and interests among their peers in a supportive environment outside of their individual schools. Now in its 16th year, The Overture Awards was launched in 1996 by the Cinergy Foundation and Leadership Cincinnati (a Greater Cincinnati Chamber of Commerce program).

CINCINNATI ARTS ASSOCIATION
Founded in 1992, the Cincinnati Arts Association (CAA) is a not-for-profit organization that oversees the programming and management of the Tri-state’s finest performing arts venues – the Aronoff Center for the Arts and Music Hall – and is dedicated to supporting performing and visual arts. Each year, CAA presents a diverse schedule of events; serves more than 700,000 people in its venues; features the work of talented local, regional, and national artists in the Weston Art Gallery (located in the Aronoff Center); and supports the work of more than one dozen resident companies. Since the inception of its acclaimed arts education programs in 1995, CAA has reached three-quarters of a million students.
