Auditions Announced for ELEEMOSYNARY at Beechmont Players

BPI_logoBeechmont Players is thrilled to announce auditions for ELEEMOSYNARY – a play by Lee Blessing.

Auditions: Sunday, October 20th from 6-9PM
Callbacks: Monday, October 21st from 6-9PM

Auditions and callbacks will be held at Cherry Grove United Methodist Church and will consist of cold readings from the script.

In 1939 Hollywood, legendary producer David O. Selznick has shut down production of his new epic, Gone with the Wind, a film adaptation of Margaret Mitchell’s novel. The screenplay, you see, just doesn’t work. So what’s an all-powerful movie mogul to do? While fending off the film’s stars, gossip columnists and his own father-in-law, Selznick sends a car for famed screenwriter Ben Hecht and pulls formidable director Victor Fleming from the set of The Wizard of Oz. Summoning both to his office, he locks the doors, closes the shades, and on a diet of bananas and peanuts, the three men labor over five days to fashion a screenplay that will become the blueprint for one of the most successful and beloved films of all time.

Auditions: May 13th and 15th from 6:30pm to 9:30pm
Callbacks: May 20th from 6:30pm to 9:30pm

Where: Cherry Grove United Methodist Church, 1428 8 Mile Rd, Cincinnati, OH 45255

What to bring:

  • 32 bars of a ballad or contemporary song that shows your range (bring sheet music if you need an accompanist).
  • Theatrical resume and headshot (if able).
  • A complete list of conflicts from August 25th through October 28th.
    **Excluding Halloween, you must be available on all dates between October 29th and November 16th.**
