2015-2016 Premier Health Broadway Series Announced at Victoria Theater

A CHRISTMAS CAROL

NATIVE GARDENS

But a disagreement over a longstanding fence line soon spirals into an all-out war of taste, class, privilege and entitlement with hilarious results. THE REVOLUTIONISTS

MOTHERS AND SONS

Sunset Players Announces Its 36th Season

“Sunset Players is excited to unveil its next season, which includes a Cincinnati theater premiere of the musical Bonnie and Clyde and a regional community theater premiere of American Idiot,” said Mike Burke, president of Sunset Players. “We’re thrilled to perform these plays and our entire season for our audience.”

Bonnie and Clyde

A Cincinnati theater premiere, Bonnie and Clyde is an electrifying story of love, adventure and crime that captured the attention of an entire country. When Bonnie and Clyde meet, their mutual cravings for excitement and fame immediately set them on a mission to chase their dreams. Their bold behavior turns into a downward spiral and puts the lovers and their loved ones in trouble with the law. As the infamous duo’s fame grows bigger, their inevitable end draws nearer.

Dorothy Meets Alice

The annual holiday children’s show brings two of literature’s most famous young ladies together when a young man puts off a book report until the last minute, then suddenly finds himself in a strange place somewhere between Oz and Wonderland. It becomes his responsibility to unscramble the stories and steer the familiar characters to their ultimate destinations while avoiding the Wicked Witch and the Red Queen.

Alive and Kicking

When Gloria’s last child announces he got married, she panics and decides her life is over. She tries to sell the house out from under her easygoing husband, John, because she decides that her life is over and it would be more comfortable to die in a small apartment located near a funeral home. This humorous play centers on the serious subject of adjusting to the life’s constant changes.

Duck Hunter Shoots Angel

This uproarious story centers on two bumbling Alabama brothers who think they shot an angel while duck hunting. As they lament their fates, they are chased by a cynical tabloid journalist and a reluctant photographer who don’t believe any of it—until feathers, wings and a tiara are discovered. The play interweaves a love story, sibling rivalry, tawdry media, race relations and cultural stereotypes as the chase ensues to find the angel in the swamp.

American Idiot

A regional community theater premiere, a trio of friends, Johnny, Tunny and Will, struggle to find meaning in a post-9/11 world. When the disgruntled men flee the constraints of their hometown for the thrills of city life, their paths quickly diverge. Tunny enters the armed forces, Michael is called back home to manage family responsibilities, and Johnny’s attention becomes divided by a seductive love interest and a hazardous new friendship. The energy-fueled rock opera features little dialogue and, instead, relies on the lyrics from Green Day’s groundbreaking album to execute the story line.

Sign language interpreters from Cincinnati State will continue to sign for select shows throughout the season.

Tickets remain on sale for the remaining 2014-2015 Season. Performances include:

  • A Nice Family Gathering by Phil Olson. Remaining show dates: February 27, 28, March 1, 5, 6 & 7.

This ghostly love story is about a man who loved his wife so much, he almost told her before he died. Now he’s a ghost on a mission, and his son is the unlikely messenger on Thanksgiving Day.

  • Wait Until Dark by Frederick Knott and Patrick Barlow and John Buchan. Show dates: May 1, 2, 8, 9, 10, 14, 15, and 16.

The thriller revolves around a blind housewife who becomes the target of three con-men who are searching for heroin hidden in a doll, which her husband innocently transported from Canada as a favor to a strange woman. When the woman is murdered, a deadly game of cat and mouse ensues.

  • Clybourne Park by Bruce Norris. Show dates: July 10, 11, 17, 18, 19, 23, 24 & 25. Winner of 2011 Pulitzer Prize and 2012 Tony Award, Clybourne Park explores race, real estate and communication in two acts set 50 years apart.

Shows begin at 8pm, except a Sunday matinee at 2pm.

AN EVENING OF CULTURE

The citizens of Mineola County are anything but prepared for their upcoming production of Romeo and Juliet. The cast doesn’t know their lines, the set is “finished”, and any and all distractions keep its leads, Mildred (who doesn’t look fifty) and Bubba Bedford (your local Gomer Pyle) from presenting their very best when the curtain rises. Join this odd assemblage of characters as they “successfully” bring the Bard’s famous tale of star crossed lovers to life. Written by Mark Landon Smith.

THE ADDAMS FAMILY

They’re creepy, kooky, spooky, and coming to KRT this summer! Gomez is living every father’s nightmare. Wednesday Addams, his princess of the dark, has grown up and fallen in love with a sweet, smart young man from a respectable family. Everything will change for both families on the fateful night they host a dinner for Wednesday’s “normal” boyfriend and his parents! Based on the comics of Charles Addams, and featuring a book by Marshall Brickman & Rick Elice with music and lyrics by Andrew Lippa.
