What does family mean to you?
From the award-winning playwright of Love! Valour! Compassion! comes a gripping new drama about change, reconciliation and what it means to be a family. Cal and his husband Will have built a happy life with their 6-year-old child. Then the mother of Cal’s former lover makes a surprise visit to their Manhattan home — 20 years after her son’s untimely death. She’s a vibrant reminder of how much and how little has changed for a generation of gay men facing a future they never imagined. A 2014 Tony nominee for best play. Advisory: Appropriate for adults and older teenage audiences. It’s a lovely story of reconciliation, but it does contain some strong adult language and other mature themes.

DIXIE SWIM CLUB Runs Feb. 19-20

TREE_Dixie Swim Club logoDIXIE SWIM CLUB
Tree County Players
Feb. 19-20
Greensburg City Hall [Greensburg, Ind.]

Directed by Michal Pennington

Cast: Jennifer Schwipps as Sheree Hollinger, Regina Siefert as Lexi Richards, Marcia Grant as Dinah Grayson, Lois Schrott as Vernadette Simms & Michal Pennington as Jeri Neal McFeeley

Five Southern women, whose friendships began many years ago on their college swim team, set aside a long weekend every August to recharge those relationships. Free from husbands, kids and jobs, they meet at the same beach cottage on North Carolina’s Outer Banks to catch up, laugh and meddle in each other’s lives. THE DIXIE SWIM CLUB focuses on four of those weekends and spans a period of thirty-three years. As their lives unfold and the years pass, these women increasingly rely on one another, through advice and raucous repartee, to get through the challenges (men, sex, marriage, parenting, divorce, aging) that life flings at them. And when fate throws a wrench into one of their lives, these friends, proving the enduring power of “teamwork,” rally ’round their own with the strength and love that takes this comedy in a poignant and surprising direction. THE DIXIE SWIM CLUB is the story of these five unforgettable women—a hilarious and touching comedy about friendships that last forever.

Girl meets boy. Girl loathes boy. Girl and boy fall in love. It is a truth universally acknowledged that Jane Austen’s most popular novel is also one of the greatest romances of all time. Pride and Prejudice returns to the stage in this new adaptation presented in an intimate setting. Upon first meeting the reticent Mr. Darcy, Elizabeth Bennet finds him cold and arrogant while he disapproves of her family and social standing. Is it his pride and her prejudice—or her pride, and his prejudice? Brought together by a series of events beyond their control, Elizabeth and Darcy must reconsider their first impressions.
