PLAY ON! Runs Nov. 3-19

fli_play-on-logoPLAY ON!
Footlighers Inc.
Nov. 3-19
Stained Glass Theatre [Newport]

Directed by Jennifer Richardson

Cast: Arlene Borock-Balczo  as Aggie Manville, Bill Keeton as Gerry Dunbar, Chuck Ingram as Henry Benish, Catherine Ross as Polly Benish, Erica Brady as Marla “Smitty” Smith, Eric Day as Saul Watson, Pat Kramer as Billy Carewe, Betsy Bossart as Violet Imbry, Gretchen Gantner as Louise Perry & Amy Sullivan as Phyllis Montague

“PLAY ON!” is a hilarious send-up to the trials and tribulations of a community theatre. This fast-paced comedy follows a theater group, desperately trying to put on a play in spite of maddening interference from a haughty authoress (who keeps revising the script). Act I is a rehearsal of the dreadful show; Act II is the near disastrous dress rehearsal; and the final act is the actual performance where anything that can go wrong, does! When the authoress decides to give a speech on the state of the modern theatre during the curtain calls, the audience is treated to a madcap climax to a thoroughly hilarious romp.

They lead him through a bewildering labyrinth of contradictory versions of Patrick’s demise and that of the late Mr. Ravenscroft. There are ghosts on the staircase, skeletons in the closet, and much more than the Inspector bargained for. His investigation leads into own tortured soul and the nature of truth itself.
