BCT_The Musical Comedy Murders of 1940 logoTHE MUSICAL COMEDY MURDERS OF 1940
Brookville Community Theatre
Feb. 13-23
[Brookville]

Directed by Debbi Robbins

Cast: Jessica Booth as Helsa Wenzel, Kate Gaston as Elsa Von Grossenknueten, Brandon Brigeman as Michael Kelly, Jonathon Thomas as Patrick O’Reily, James Nelson as Ken De La Maize, Megan Renney as Nikki Crandall, Stephen Kallenberg as Eddie McCuen, Lori Alejandro as Marjorie Baverstock, Alain Alejandro as Roger Hopewell & Sheryl Koontz as Bernice Roth

The team responsible for a recent Broadway flop (in which three chorus girls were murdered by the mysterious “Stage Door Slasher”) assemble for an audition of their new show at the Westchester estate. The house is replete with sliding panels, secret passageways and a German maid; all of which figure diabolically in the comic mayhem which follows when the infamous “Slasher” makes his reappearance and strikes again—and again. When a blizzard cuts off any possible retreat, bodies start dropping, fingers start pointing, and police start bumbling.

CLYBOURNE PARK Runs Feb. 13-16

CCM_Clybourne Park promoCLYBOURNE PARK
UC College-Conservatory of Music
Feb. 13-16
Patricia Corbett Theater [University Heights]

Directed by Richard E. Hess

CLYBOURNE PARK was awarded the 2011 Pulitzer Prize for Drama and the 2012 Tony Award for Best Play. Inspired by Lorraine Hansberry’s A Raisin in the Sun (1959), the play explodes in two high-powered acts set 50 years apart. It imagines events in a racially-charged America and reveals that underneath a house in a typical neighborhood, racial fault lines run deep and wide. This production contains strong language.
