Welcome to the Renaissance and the outrageous, crowd-pleasing musical farce, Something Rotten!
Set in the 1590s, brothers Nick and Nigel Bottom are desperate to write a hit play but are stuck in the shadow of that Renaissance rock star known as “The Bard.” When a local soothsayer foretells that the future of theatre involves singing, dancing and acting at the same time, Nick and Nigel set out to write the world’s very first musical. But amidst the scandalous excitement of opening night, the Bottom Brothers realize that reaching the top means being true to thine own self, and all that jazz.

Fast-talking traveling salesman, Harold Hill, cons the people of River City, Iowa, into buying instruments and uniforms for a boys’ band despite the fact that he doesn’t know a trombone from a treble clef. His plans to skip town with the cash are foiled when he falls for Marian, the librarian. By turns wicked, funny, warm, romantic and touching, The Music Man is family entertainment at its best. The Tony Award-winning musical comedy has been entertaining audiences since 1957 and is a family-friendly story to be shared with old and young alike.

Transmigration, so named for “the movement from one place to another” or “the transition from one state of being to another,” features six teams of CCM Acting students who craft and then perform original 30-minute shows simultaneously in different locations throughout CCM Village. The artists of tomorrow are talking, come hear what they have to say. Transmigration audience members will have the opportunity to experience four different works of their choosing in one spectacular evening:

  • THE DOGHOUSE – The Good, the Bad, and the Ruff
  • 404 PLAY-NOT-FOUND – Connection Interrupted
  • K.I.D.S – Korrupt Individuals Destroy Society
  • XMAS – For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” Romans 6:23 ESV

Two young Christian women find their faith in the Lord tested as they attempt to dispose of the evidence of a recent display of faith by feeding it to pigs housed on a rural farm. Caught in the act, these young women find the evening becomes progressively more complex, morbid, and dangerous as they encounter test after test.
