LTC_The Odd Couple logoTHE ODD COUPLE
Lebanon Theatre Company
May 13-22
[Lebanon]

Directed by Jessica Burroughs
Produced by Jay Mills & Kurt Percy

This classic comedy opens as a group of the guys assemble for cards in the apartment of divorced Oscar Madison. And if the mess is any indication, it’s no wonder that his wife left him. Late to arrive is Felix Unger, who has just been separated from his wife. Fastidious, depressed, and none too tense, Felix seems suicidal, but as the action unfolds, Oscar becomes the one with murder on his mind when the clean freak and the slob ultimately decide to room together with hilarious results as The Odd Couple is born.

THE MUSICAL OF MUSICALS THE MUSICAL! Runs May 10-15

TSC_Musical of Musicals logoTHE MUSICAL OF MUSICALS THE MUSICAL!
The Story Collective of Cincinnati
May 10-15
Fitton Center for the Creative Arts [Hamilton]

Directed by Ed Cohen
Musical direction by Mark Femia
Choreographed by Maria Huey

Cast: Kayla Stroud as Our Ingenue, Will Ellis as Our Hero, Susan Jung as Our Friend & Gabe Hoyer as Our Villain

The Musical of Musicals (The Musical!) is a musical about musicals! In this hilarious satire of musical theatre, one story becomes five delightful musicals, each written in the distinctive style of a different master of the form, from Rodgers and Hammerstein to Stephen Sondheim. The basic plot: June is an ingenue who can’t pay the rent and is threatened by her evil landlord. Will the handsome leading man come to the rescue? The variations are a Rodgers & Hammerstein version, set in Kansas in August; a Sondheim version, featuring the landlord as a tortured artistic genius who slashes the throats of his tenants in revenge for not appreciating his work; a Jerry Herman version, as a splashy star vehicle; an Andrew Lloyd Webber version, a rock musical with themes borrowed from Puccini; and a Kander & Ebb version, set in a speakeasy in Chicago. An entertaining comic valentine to musical theatre.

THE CURIOUS SAVAGE is the story of an elderly widow named Mrs. Savage, whose husband has left her $10 million dollars. To prevent her from doing away with their family’s wealth and ruining their legacy, they have her committed to a sanatorium called The Cloisters, and it is among the gentle residents there that she finds her true family. The Curious Savage is a warm comedy that compares the kindness and loyalty of psychiatric patients with the greed and hostility of so-called “normal people.”
