THE PREMATURE CORPSE Runs May 6-15

TCP_Premature CorpseTHE PREMATURE CORPSE
Tri-County Players
May 6-15
Bell Tower Arts Pavilion

Directed by Trisha Cooper

Cast: David Little as Evan Jorris, Stephanie Junker as Francine Jorris, Richard Zenk as Larry Craig, Glenn Schaich as Bert Marshak, Marcia Grant as Thalia Broderick & Cathy Woodruff as Angie Hoffmeier

This masterfully plotted show has so many twists and turns…On the surface, it’s a “love triangle” stale: State’s witness, Evan Jorris, under a government protection program after testifying against the mob, has a wife, Francine, who along with her lover, lawyer Larry Craig contrives to do away with her husband, confident that everyone will assume that the mob did the deed. This deceptively simple setup, however, is not at all what it seems.

May 19-29
PNC Arts Annex [Dayton]

Directed by Jenna Valyn & Kaleigh-Brooke Scheiding

Cast: Lauren Everett as Molly, A.J. Breslin as Kevin, Chris Hahn as Nate & Shalemar Davis as Lil

Molly and Kevin are engaged. They have “normal” jobs. Kevin and Nate have known each other since they were kids. Nate used to be famous once. He just broke up with Lil, who does performance art, and she used to work with Molly, who wanted to be an actress a long time ago. These relationships come to a head when Kevin decides he no longer wants the regular life he convinced Molly to live with him. Friend Art asks how late is too late to give up on your dreams, when are you really a grown-up, and what the hell are you supposed to say when walking out of a friend’s truly terrible performance? Rated R for language and drug use.
