Wild Kratts features the brothers on incredible expeditions to meet wild creatures from the far corners of the earth, diving into the habitats of these unusual animals with the use of futuristic technology and Creature Powers Suits that allow the brothers to take their funny and exciting adventures to where they’ve never gone before. Wild Kratts has received numerous awards since its inception in 2011, including Parents Choice, Kidscreen, Aurora, and two Emmy nominations. New York, NY. February 1, 2016 – Irish music sensation CELTIC WOMAN celebrates the release of its newest album, DESTINY, which debuted #1 on Billboard’s World Music Chart in January. The release marks their 9th record to debut at the #1 spot in their decade-long career and continues to hold the #1 slot for a 2nd straight week.

Celtic Woman will perform songs from DESTINY on its 85-city North American tour that stops at the Aronoff Center’s Procter & Gamble Hall for one night only on Thursday, March 24 at 7:00pm.  Tickets prices start at $48.25 (prices subject to change) and are on sale now at www.CincinnatiArts.org, (513) 621-ARTS [2787], and the Aronoff Center Ticket Office.

Watch the Destiny trailer:

The heart of Ireland beats strongly throughout the tour featuring an entirely new production showcasing vocalists Mairéad Carlin, Susan McFadden and newest member Éabha McMahon along with Celtic violinist and founding member Máiréad Nesbitt, accompanied by a group of equally talented musicians and dancers.

DESTINY CD/DVD (Manhattan Records) is Celtic Woman’s 10th CD and first of all-new material since 2011’s Believe.  DESTINY features a fresh fusion of traditional Irish music and modern songcraft, including theWaterboys classic “The Whole of the Moon,” Ed Sheeran’s “I See Fire,” from The Hobbit film, Mutt Lange’s “Walk Beside Me” and the popular video game theme, “Skyrim.”  As Ireland commemorates the events of 100 years ago that led to its nation’s independence, Celtic Woman offers a rousing version of  “Óró sé do bheatha ‘bhaile,” an anthem closely connected with the 1916 uprising. The all-female ensemble also delivers timeless traditional Irish songs such as  “Bean Pháidín” and “Siúil A Run” highlighting the beauty of Ireland’s heritage and its Gaelic language, plus audience favorites “Amazing Grace” and “You Raise Me Up.”

The companion DVD Destiny: Live in Concert was filmed in Dublin in the Round Room at the Mansion House, the historic home of the Lord Mayor of Dublin.  The concert has already begun airing on local public television stations as the latest in Celtic Woman’s lengthy series of successful PBS television concert specials.

The multi-platinum, all-female ensemble made its debut on PBS in 2005 and has achieved massive success encompassing 10 chart-topping albums, nine PBS specials, over eight million albums sold, and platinum sales in nine countries. Celtic Woman regularly performs to sellout audiences across six continents and 23 countries, with an especially devoted following in America.

The Overture Awards Finals Competition and Awards Ceremony will be held on Saturday, February 27, 2016 at 1:00 PM at the Aronoff Center’s Jarson-Kaplan Theater. Winners will be announced immediately following the competition.

This year, 493 students were nominated by their schools to compete in one of six artistic disciplines: Creative Writing, Dance, Instrumental Music, Theater, Visual Art, and Vocal Music. There are three levels of competition: Regional, Semi-Final, and Final.

The Overture Awards Regional Competitions were held on January 9 at the Aronoff Center for the Arts, Immanuel United Methodist Church (Lakeside Park, KY), Northern Kentucky University, and the University of Cincinnati – College-Conservatory of Music. The top 20 percent of competitors in each discipline advanced to the Semi-Finals, which were held at the Aronoff Center on January 29-30. Twenty-four finalists (four in each discipline) will compete in the Finals Competition at the Aronoff Center’s Jarson-Kaplan Theater on February 27.

Now in its 20th year, The Overture Awards was launched in 1996 by the Cinergy Foundation (now Duke Energy) and Leadership Cincinnati (a program of the Greater Cincinnati Chamber of Commerce). The Overture Awards is funded and administered by the Cincinnati Arts Association, which operates and manages the Aronoff Center and Music Hall. The Overture Awards also relies on hundreds of volunteers from the community who help raise funds, adjudicate and manage the competitions, and nurture the program.
