Footligther’s Seeking Directors for 2012/2013 Season

The Footlighters, Inc. is currently seeking qualified directors for its 2012-2013 season. The Footlighters, Inc. was founded in 1963 and since 1987 has owned its own facility, The Stained Glass Theatre in Newport, Ky. It continually attracts outstanding talent for its productions, and has received local, state, and national awards for outstanding production quality, individual and ensemble performances, and technical achievements.

If you would like to be considered, please send the following information to Janet Wisner, Chairperson of the Director/Play Selection Committee at janet.wisner@possibleworldwide.com:

  • A one-page letter of interest briefly detailing 1-3 shows you would like to direct. Also include information that evidences your ability to coordinate a show budget and work effectively with a wide range of people.
  • Please also include a theater resume that includes your contact information.

Please send this information in ONE file saved as a Word document. The deadline to submit materials is September 30, 2011. If you are selected for an interview, you will be asked to provide additional information including a detailed budget projection for each show you are considering. If you have any questions, please contact the committee chairperson at the e-mail address listed above. Please put the words “Footlighters’ Director” in the subject line.

Female Vampire Needed for Newspaper Photo Shoot

The Enquirer is searching for and actor/model for a Halloween photo shoot to take place in the next few weeks.

A woman, tall with shoulder length or longer dark brown hair, between 20-30 years of age is needed to play a vampire. Also, needed is a make-up artist who is proficient in vampire and zombie make-up. Work will be done on a volunteer basis. Please send a headshot and/or an example of your work. Photos can be used for portfolios.

Male Actor Needed for MLT’s ALMOST, MAINE

Middletown Lyric Theatre is looking for a male actor in his twenties to low thirties to play the following male roles in ALMOST MAINE: PETE, LENDALL and Man (Daniel).

SYNOPSIS: On a cold, clear, moonless night in the middle of winter, all is not quite what it seems in the remote, mythical town of Almost, Maine. As the northern lights hover in the star-filled sky above, Almost’s residents find themselves falling in and out of love in unexpected and often hilarious ways. Knees are bruised. Hearts are broken. But the bruises heal, and the hearts mend—almost—in this delightful midwinter night’s dream.

Director: William “Kip” Moore

Rehearsal; Sunday late afternoon’s, Monday and Tuesday evenings. Due to the nature of the play the show is rehearsed in scenes so attendance to every rehearsal not likely until production week.

Show: November 3-5. Would prefer minimial conflicts from October 21 on. First read thru is September 25.

Producer/Director for Live Stage

We are a national entertainment company with corporate headquarters in Dallas. We produce private and public interactive Dinner Theatre. We also have a division of our company that stages Team Building and Game Show events. We have been in business for over 25 years and are established in over 35 cities across the United States.

We are presently searching for a Producer/Director to work part time in the Cincinnati area. This is a paid position. Commissions vary with the size of the event. THEATRICAL EXPERIENCE IS A MUST and preferably as a Director/Actor in an interactive theatre environment. Computer skills are required and Improv training and experience are a big plus.

Frisch Marionette Company Seeking Part-Time Puppeteer

Frisch Marionette Company is seeking part-time seasonal puppeteer for the 2011/2012 season. Employment begins fall, 2011.

Requirements: Candidates must be at least 20 years of age, have some college education in theatre arts, a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation. No experience with marionettes necessary; we will train the right candidate. However, you must be energetic, have good hand/eye coordination and a sense of showmanship. Preferred candidate may have some previous experience working with children in the performing arts.

Candidate must be able to work in an unsupervised environment; must be a self starter, dependable, and have excellent communication and customer service skills; must be able to lift 50 lbs; must be willing and able to work a flexible schedule.

The successful candidate will have the skills and purpose to grow with the Frisch Marionette Company and could include year-round opportunities.

About Frisch Marionette Company: Kevin Frisch moved from Cincinnati to New York City and joined Nicolas Coppola’s The Puppetworks, Inc., of Brooklyn, NY in 1986. Working with many puppeteers, Kevin developed his own art, craft and skills as a puppeteer and artist. Kevin spent the next nine years touring the New York Metropolitan area as well as performing in The Puppetworks’ permanent theatres in Brooklyn and Macy’s Herald Square.
