FFL Accepting Directing Proposals for 2013-14 Season

Fairfield Footlighters is accepting Directing proposals for our 12th (2013-14) season.

We are looking for passionate professionals who will deliver a quality show to our patrons. We expect directors to have a strong vision, practiced rehearsal skills, and flexibility.

Please submit a written proposal with brief concept (2-3 sentences) for 2-3 plays and/or 1-2 musicals that you would like to direct. Attach resume with applicable experience to your proposal. Please note in your submission if you own a perusal copy that may be borrowed by the Play Reading Chair.

Production dates are:

  • Sept 27-29, Oct 4-6
  • Nov 15-17, 22-24
  • Feb 14-16, 21-23
  • May 23-25, 30-Jun 1

Fairfield Footlighters makes its home in the Fairfield Community Arts Center. We produce four shows annually, running two weekends, and one of the four may be a musical. Typically rehearsals run in the evenings, Mon-Thur. Most, if not all, rehearsals can be scheduled at the FairfieldCAC using the stage or other available space as needed. Set load-in is the Sunday before opening Friday and is overseen by the FairfieldCAC Technical Director, who also provides lights, sound, and set design as needed.

The FairfieldCAC has limited wings space and no backstage space to store a set, so please be mindful of large or multiple set needs in your submissions. However, we have done some very creative set designs to handle multiple setting needs for past shows. Nothing is impossible with the right vision.

Director interviews, based on submissions, will be held in December 2012 at the FairfieldCAC. Time and date TBA. Submissions may be mailed to: Fairfield Footlighters, 411 Wessel Drive, Fairfield OH 45014 or emailed to: ffootlighters@yahoo.com.

Visit the Fairfield Footlighters website at www.fairfieldfootlighters.org for more information about the company.
