CSP(O) Call for 2013-2014 Directors

CSPO_logoCenterStage Players is now accepting applications for Directors in our 2013-2014 season.

Generally, CenterStage Players (OH) produce 3-4 shows a year, which have been performed at the North College Hill City Center in Cincinnati, OH.

Interested applicants should send information to Hannah Goodman, Vice-President of Production before the deadline of December 17th, 2012. The CenterStage Board will schedule interviews with applicants in early January 2013.

  1. Your theatrical resume and contact information.

Are there any foreseen casting difficulties with the show? How would you over-come them?

What draws you, as a director, to want to work on this show?

4. One copy of the script (s) so that the CenterStage Board can read through it before your interview.

Casting Call for THE COLORS OF THE RAINBOW

MISC_Casting call2Urantia Studios is shooting THE COLORS OF THE RAINBOW, feature film in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Casting will be held on Friday, December 7th from 6pm to 8pm and Saturday, December 8th from 2pm to 6pm at 330 W 4th street, Apt #22 Cincinnati, OH 45202.

Shooting will start mid January and will finish late February.

These are not paid positions for the actors but there is a contract for this project that specifies, the film will be submitted to Sundance next year and other film festivals and in case it makes any kind of profit, actors will get a share of it.

SSP Announces Cast of MOONLIGHT AND MAGNOLIAS

SSP_logoThe Sunset Players are proud to announce the cast of their winter show, MOONLIGHT AND MAGNOLIAS, directed by Don Frimming and produced by Allen Moellmann.

It’s 1939 and Hollywood’s legendary producer David O. Selznick has shut down production of his new epic, “Gone with the Wind.” The screenplay, you see, just doesn’t work. Selznick sends for famed screenwriter Ben Hecht and pulls director Victor Fleming from the set of “The Wizard of Oz.” He locks the doors, closes the shades, and, with bananas and peanuts, the three men create the screenplay that will become one of the most beloved of all time.

Paid Roles Available in Louisville LGBT Film

Paid acting gig.

Brand New Gay Productions is excited to start production on our newest film the comedy BRETT AND KYLE. This short film will be shot in Louisville Kentucky during January 2013.

Synopsis: Accidentally stuck in a deep freeze, two guys, one straight and one gay, keep warm with hot talk about their lives and loves. What they each learn is that their lives are very similar in spite of their different sexual orientations.

Cast:

  • Brett – An early 30’s straight guy. He’s a little insecure, but has a good heart and a strong libido.
  • Kyle – An early 30’s gay guy. He’s secure in his identity and himself.
  • Waiter – An early 20’s smart-aleck
  • Cook – A fortyish male or female

  • Interior of a restaurant freezer
  • Restaurant kitchen

St. Xavier High School Seeks Part Time Acting Teacher

ST. XAVIER HIGH SCHOOL DEPARTMENT OF FINE ARTS
PART TIME TEACHING POSITION – 2 classes per day

The description below is from our Graded Course of Study.

Acting Teacher – Beginning level
Fine Arts Studio 1
Length – 1 Semester Level: Freshmen
Acting/Music/Visual ½ credit

During the semester, freshmen experience each of the arts – Acting, Music, Visual.

Goals and Objectives: Introducing the students to the essential elements of the arts, the course provides basic studio experiences. This method seeks to create opportunities to seek and discover convergence points among all three areas. Moreover, the students will be well prepared to pointedly choose their “major” in one of the arts for the sophomore course.

Content and Method: Hands on studio work is the driving feature of all the arts. Students participate in daily activities featuring techniques and elements of each art form. Basic elements of drawing advance student experience with line, shape, contour line, shading, and beginning perspective. Acting features exercises in movement, emotion, reaction, props use, and character. Presentational skills in performance dominate the study. Music involves students in beginning exercises for understanding the language of music and music-making. Students participate in vocalizing or using instruments, learning basics of notes and scales, melody/harmony, dynamics, and elements of ensemble performing.

Evaluation and Grading: Studio grades will be forthcoming in the following areas: skill development as shown through performance moments; quizzes on basic vocabulary and elements; self-critiquing and teacher assessment of projects; student effort. Each arts area is 1/3 of the semester grade.

This is a pilot class, new this school year. Freshmen shuttle through all 3 arts venues, Acting, Music, and Visual. If their class begins in Music, they rotate next to Visual, and then to Acting. If they begin in Acting, they rotate next to Music, then to Visual. If they begin in Visual, they rotate next to Acting, then to Music. We are ending our 2nd (out of 6) rotation and will begin a 3rd rotation on Monday, November 26. Each venue lasts 24 to 26 class days.

The curriculum is provided for this course. Close collaboration with the department head will occur daily, in a shared office.

Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree; Transcripts of graduation; experience in directing, work-shopping, teaching high school age students. Call the individuals below for further information.
