Teachers Sought by Drama Kids in Mason

MISC_Drama Kids logoIMMEDIATE OPENING: Drama Kids – Cincinnati is looking for caring, fun and motivated teachers that are passionate about developing children to join our growing team.  Our teachers believe in what they do and that they can affect positive change every day. Their energy and enthusiasm encourages kids to become the best communicators they can be!  Our goal is to develop kids who are able to strive and thrive as their future unfolds.

As a member of our great team you will:

  • Work 3-6 hours per week in the afternoon (between 2 – 5 pm)
  • Teach and mentor students from 6 to 14 years of age
  • Follow Drama Kids curriculum  (provided)
  • Direct plays
  • Build relationships with parents and students
  • Deliver presentations
  • Foster relationships with local schools
  • Have potential to do additional administrative and marketing work/projects for our location

We are looking for people that:

  • Have a heart for kids!
  • Are looking for a very part-time and fun opportunity
  • Have teaching experience and excellent classroom management skills
  • Are performance oriented
  • With HIGH ENERGY and flexibility
  • Have afternoons available
  • Are willing and able to commit for one school year
  • Have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

*Theater experience a plus

Our classes are held at different schools/locations in the northeast Cincinnati area (West Chester, Loveland, Milford, Mainevile, Blanchester, etc.).

Casting Call for DEATH AND DYING ON THE DINSMORE FARM

DH_logoThe Dinsmore Homestead in Burlington KY is looking for actors to portray historical characters for their Halloween event, “Death and Dying on the Dinsmore Farm.” The historical event will include tours of the Dinsmore Homestead and Graveyard.

At different points on the tour, actors will perform scripted five minute vignettes.  Actors are expected to have their vignettes memorized.  There will likely be 2 or 3 tour groups per hour.  Costumes are being provided, actors will need to give their measurements.  The event is Saturday October 27 and Sunday, October 28 from 1pm-5pm, with call times prior.

There will be one dress rehearsal, yet to be scheduled.

Available Roles:

James Dinsmore. Male. Stage age 70. Patriarch of the Dinsmore Homestead, scientific farmer and slaveowner. The actor playing James will perform his vignette at the Dinsmore Homestead Graveyard, which is a short uphill walk from the house.  In the short scene James is at the burial of Coah, and elderly enslaved gentleman who died in 1862.

Julia Dinsmore. Stage age 30-40.  Poet and author.  Ran the homestead on her own for decades. In Julia’s scene she is at the bedside of her father, knowing she’ll be expected to take over the farm.

This is not a paid event but there will be dinner provided for the volunteers at the end of each day.

To be considered for a directing slot for INNOVAtheatre,  please submit the following for the show(s) you wish to propose to ​INNOVAtheatre@gmail.com.

  •  A letter of introduction (with references)
  • Synopsis of proposed show(s)
  • Casting breakdown (Characters & character descriptions)
  • Set requirements
  • Orchestra or music requirements (if applicable)
  • Proposed production staff already assembled.
  • Why you should be chosen to direct the show.
  • Who holds the show rights.
  • Length/timing of show.
  • Personal experience and background (resume of relevant theatrical experience)
  • Availability for ACT excerpts
  • A copy of the script (or detailed synopsis – script preferred)
  • A copy of an estimated budget

Deadline for submissions is November 1st at 11:59pm. If you are being considered to direct we will contact you and ask you to come to the Board Meeting November 17th to pitch the selected show.
