There’s no question that things like the ACT scholarship helped me make it through CCM and on to other paths of success.”

— Richard Oberacker, ACE composer

BPI is seeking versatile, comedic actors. Plan to do cold readings from the script. For those auditioning for Tito and/or Max, prepare to do some singing exercises; actors may prepare an operatic aria to be sung a cappella at the audition, but this is not required. This is not a musical, but it does include some singing by a few of the actors.

Headshot and resume are ideal but are not required. All roles are open. Performance dates are May 9 – 17, 2014. Visit www.beechmontplayers.org for more information.

Characters:

  • Max – excitable assistant to Saunders (age 20-35)
  • Maggie — Max’s girlfriend, enamored by Tito (age 20-35)
  • Saunders — Maggie’s high-strung father, General Manager of the Cleveland Grand Opera Company (age dependent on Maggie’s)
  • Tito Merelli — a world famous Italian tenor, easily distracted by booze and women (age 35+ flexible)
  • Maria — Tito’s jealous Italian wife (age 30-40 dependent on Tito)
  • Bellhop – a curious, wannabe opera singer bellhop (flexible)
  • Diana — a very sexy soprano (does not actually sing on stage) (age 20-35)
