The Western Front, Christmas, 1914. Out of the violence a silence, then a song. A German soldier steps into No Man’s Land singing “Stille Nacht.” Thus begins an extraordinary night of camaraderie, music and peace. This is a remarkable true story, told in the words and songs of the men who lived it.

Casting Requirements:

  • The directors are looking for 16-20 men (appearing ages 18 to 55) for this unique ensemble piece of musical theatre.
  • This work consists of 28 Celtic ballads, patriotic music and Christmas carols from the period and 29 monologues taken directly from the journals and letters of the men who were there.
  • The entire show is done 4 part men’s a cappella chorus. There are some solos throughout the piece
  • Please prepare 32 bars of a Christmas or Folk song of your choice to be sung a cappella. (pitch can be provided)
  • Also, be prepared to sing one of the following a cappella:

    • Tenors: 1 verse of “O Holy Night” in E flat in French or English
    • Bases: 1 verse of “Silent Night” in B flat in German or English
  • For those interested in speaking roles there will be some cold readings.
  • This piece requires a broad range of dialects. (British, Scottish, German, Irish, Italian, French
  • A résumé and headshot are not required but are appreciated
  • Please provide a list of all known conflicts between Oct. 7th and Dec. 6th 2015.

Auditions Announced for HELLO DOLLY! at Brookville Community Theatre

HELLO DOLLY! is the story of Mrs. Dolly Levi’s efforts to marry Horace Vandergelder, the well-known half-a-millionaire, and send his money circulating among the people like rainwater the way her late husband, Ephraim Levi, taught her. Along the way she also succeeds in matching up the young and beautiful widow Irene Molloy with Vandergelder’s head clerk, Cornelius Hackl; Cornelius’ assistant, Barnaby Tucker, with Mrs. Molloy’s assistant, Minnie Fay; and the struggling artist, Ambrose Kemper, with Mr. Vandergelder’s weeping niece, Ermengarde.

Auditions Announced for 2016 Summer Classic Season at Warsaw Federal Incline Theatre

WFIT_Sign at nightAuditions for The Warsaw Federal Incline Theater’s 2016 Summer Classic Season will be held on the following dates:

  • Sat. Jan. 9th 1 – 5 pm. (Sing and dance)
  • Sun. Jan. 10th 1 – 5pm. (Sing and dance)
  • Mon. Jan. 11th 6 – 10pm. (Sing and dance)

Please note: These Auditions will include singing and dancing only.

Callback date: Tuesday, January 12th (6pm to 10pm)
Please note: These callbacks will be utilized for reading from scripts (not singing/dancing).

All auditions will be held at the Warsaw Federal Incline Theater, 801 Matson Place, Cincinnati, OH 45204 (East Price Hill).

Important Audition Information – this applies to any of the 3 shows.

  • Please prepare 16-32 bars of a song (30 seconds – 1 minute) that best showcases vocal ability.
  • Bring sheet music in the correct key.
  • Please dress appropriately for a dance audition.
  • There will be a tap portion during the dance audition (bring your tap shoes). Tap will be for consideration in ANYTHING GOES. The rest of the dance audition will apply to CHICAGO (lots of jazz) and BABY (minimal dance required).
  • Must be a minimum of 17 years of age to audition.
  • MUST HAVE A RESUME listing theatrical experience in order to audition.
  • A headshot/picture is appreciated.

Please note: You will be asked to read from the script at the callback only.
Auditioning for one show? Bring along 1 headshot and a resume
Auditioning two shows? Bring along 2 headshot and 2 resumes
Audition for all three shows? Then bring along 3 headshots and 3 resumes.

Cast members do not have to be the actual ages of the characters in any of the productions – But must be able to look age appropriate and act accordingly.

No more than two conflicts will be accepted during the rehearsal process for each of these productions. All roles are paid positions. No roles have been precast.

June 1 – June 26, 2016
Boys-Meet-Girls and the complications get hysterically funny as a boat load of crazy characters, including a bungling gangster, an English gentleman and a bevy of dazzling American showgirls cross the Atlantic in an ocean liner that makes the Love Boat look like a leaky canoe in Cole Porter’s ANYTHING GOES. Terrific songs like It’s De-Lovely, Friendship, I Get A Kick Out Of You, All Through The Night, Anything Goes, You’re The Top and Blow, Gabriel, Blow keep this ship steaming full speed ahead!
