About Over-the-Rhine International Film Festival
In 2022 the Over-the-Rhine International Film Festival, presented by Procter & Gamble, was named one of the 25 Coolest Film Festivals in the world (yes, WORLD) by MovieMaker Magazine. Experience the festival for yourself this July 6th–8th in the heart of the Over the Rhine district of Cincinnati.

The festival, organized by leading disability services and advocacy organization LADD, is known as the nation’s premier inclusion and diversity film festival led by the disability community. The mission of this film festival is to create a sense of shared humanity through stories, conversations, and action. The festival’s vision is focused on giving a voice to the voiceless, empowering filmmakers who are more often than not forced into the margins of media and telling untold stories that deserve to be heard. LADD brings the annual festival to Cincinnati to continue reframing how we see disability in the entertainment industry’s ongoing discussion of diversity.

Auditions Announced for GENDER BENDER 5.0 at Mason Community Players

MCP_Gender Bender 4Mason Community Players is excited to announce auditions for their fifth, and final, annual Gender Bender Revue! This year’s Gender Bender 5.0 will cap off Mason Community Players’ 50th season, paying homage to MCP’s history with the non-traditional Gender Bender twist! (Yep, sing a song that the other gender always gets to perform!)

Auditioners should prepare 1-2 minutes of a musical theatre song that showcases their abilities. Auditioners do not need to audition with a gender-bent song, just sing whatever best displays your vocal style and range.

Director/Producer Peyton Hahn and Music Director Jon Scheiding encourage auditioners to submit their auditions digitally by e-mailing their video audition (preferably via a YouTube link) to genderbendermcp@gmail.com. Also, please complete the sign-up form. You can access the form at
https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfC2E_tyt2Ef7jKkCVGv1_zsQHtIu_HysimtufN-OymdzhZGw/viewform.  Digital auditions are due by 11:59pm on July 21st. All submissions will receive a confirmation e-mail with 48 hours.

For those who prefer to audition in person, auditions will be held on July 22nd from 2-5pm at the Mason Community Playhouse, 5529 Mason Rd., Mason, OH 45040. Please sign up for an audition spot that date through this link: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/9040845adad28a57-gender#/
Walk-ins are welcome, but signing up ahead is encouraged.

All are also welcome to audition via MCP’s Karaoke Party on July 8th between 7-9pm (also at the Mason Playhouse). Director Peyton Hahn and Music Director Jon Scheiding will be in attendance – no need to sign up for any time slot. Show up and show us what you’ve got!

Gender Bender 5.0 performances are October 27th–29th and November 3rd–4th. The production team will do their best to be flexible with rehearsal times to accommodate as many performers as possible, however conflicts during tech week (after October 21st) are discouraged.
