Cast Announced for THE SLEEPING GIANT at Know Theatre of Cincinnati

KTC_Sleeping GiantBRIANNA MILLER plays The Naïf
Sleeping Giant is Brianna’s first appearance on the Know MainStage. Cincy Fringe audiences may have seen her as Lady Catherine Ferrers in The Highway Woman at this year’s Fringe.

JARED EARLAND plays The Raconteur
Jared has previously been seen at the Know as Smith Henry in Dickless (2023) and as Ernie Mac (and others) in Puffs, or, Seven Increasingly Eventful Years at a Certain School of Magic and Magic (2019). He appeared alongside his Sleeping Giant castmate Brianna Miller as Tam in The Highway Woman at the most recent Cincy Fringe.

RYAN-CHAVEZ RICHMOND plays The Messenger
Ryan-Chavez’s previous Know credits include Jay in Harpers Ferry 2019 (2022) and Ethan in Sunrise Coven (2022), as well as an appearance at our To The Future/From The Past cabaret gala this spring. He was also seen at the 2022 Cincy Fringe in as Heathcliff in the award-winning Wuthering: a musical on the moors.

TESS TALBOT as The Convert
Tess’s Know credits include playing Alicia in Mercury (2019), our most recent Steve Yockey-penned black comedy. She’s also appeared as Lula in Listen for the Light (2017), Ada in Ada and the Engine (2018), Halo in Girl in the Red Corner (2019), Mistress Spidra in Shock! (2021), and Saff/Oli/Judy in Dickless (2023).

Auditions Announced for WHITE CHRISTMAS at The Covedale Center

CCPACincinnati Landmark Productions to hold auditions for The Covedale Center’s holiday show
WHITE CHRISTMAS

  • Saturday, August 5th 2:00 to 5:00pm
  • Sunday, August 6th 6:30 to 9:30 pm
    Callbacks: Monday, August 7th 6:30 to 9:30 pm.

  • You will read from the script. Prepare a song to sing for 16 to 32 measures in musical theatre style. An accompanist will be provided.
  • You will be taught a dance combination as well.
  • Must be a minimum of 16 years of age to audition. Except: Girls auditioning for the role of Susan Waverly must be a minimum of 10 years old.
  • MUST HAVE A RESUME listing theatrical experience in order to audition.
  • A headshot/picture is appreciated. Please bring a headshot and resume.
  • Performers of all races and ethnicities, gender identities, sexualities and abilities are especially encouraged to audition and will be considered for all roles.
  • No more than 2 conflicts will be accepted during the rehearsal process.
  • All roles are paid positions. No roles have been precast.
  • Cast members do not have to be the actual ages of the characters in any of the productions – But must be able to look age appropriate and act accordingly.

Veterans Bob Wallace and Phil Davis have a successful song-and-dance act after World War II. With romance in mind, the two follow a duo of beautiful singing sisters en route to their Christmas show at a Vermont lodge, which just happens to be owned by Bob and Phil’s former army commander. With a dazzling score featuring well-known standards including “Blue Skies,” “The Best Things Happen When Your Dancing,” “Count Your Blessings,” “Snow and the perennial classic, WHITE CHRISTMAS!

Characters include:

  • Bob Wallace: Lead, Male, 35-45
    A major singing star, Bob is the guiding force behind the song and dance team of Wallace and Davis. Despite occasional gruffness, he is a deeply kind and principled man who is searching for true love. Excellent singer with a crooning style who moves very well. Tap and Jazz. Baritone.
  • Phil Davis: Lead, Male, 30-45
    The fun-loving song-and-dance partner of the team Wallace and Davis. An irrepressible clown, operator, and incorrigible ladies’ man who is determined to see his friend happy. He has a boyish charm. Strong ballroom, jazz, and tap dancing are needed. Baritone-tenor.
  • Betty Haynes: Lead, Female, 20-39
    Sensible, responsible half of the Haynes sisters act. Classic elegance. Hides a yearning for true love under a protective shell. Female singer of beauty and charm with a rich chest mix and soprano extension. Must move well.
  • Judy Haynes: Lead, Female, 25-35
    Younger, more ambitious, and slightly scheming younger sister. Wholesome and adorable, sexy and flirty. Strong jazz and tap dancer. Strong singer with a chest mix.
  • General Henry Waverly: Lead, Male, 58-65
    Retired Army general with a curmudgeonly military exterior, adjusting to retired life in post-WW II America. Underneath a warm compassionate man. With the exception of one line, can be a non-singing role.
  • Martha Watson: Lead, Female, 48-65
    Once a Broadway star, now the General’s housekeeper. The true force behind running the Inn. Very dry wit and frank with a wisecracking sense of humor. Big hearted, but unsentimental. Irrepressible meddler, believing she acts on everyone’s best behalf. Strong singer and mover, Broadway belter.
  • Susan: Child, Supporting. Age 10 and up. Sings/Dances. General Waverly’s granddaughter.
  • Ralph Sheldrake: Supporting, Male, 35-42
  • Rita And Rhoda: Supporting, Female, 25-30
  • Ezekiel Foster: Supporting, Male, 45-59
