Casting KIDS ages 10-18 and ADULTS for roles in SCHOOL OF ROCK.

All kid roles are written as students in 4th–6th grade. Actors auditioning for these roles must be able to convincingly portray children in this age range, regardless of their actual age. You must be 10 years old at the time of your audition.

Audition Dates: October 15th from 6-10pm and October 17th from 12-5pm

Rehearsals start Nov 22 

MON / WED / FRI 7pm-10pm with alternating SAT / SUN 1:30-4:30

Not every actor will be called to every rehearsal. 

Performance Dates: Mar 5, 6, 7, 12, 13, 14, 19, 20, 21

What to prepare and bring:

• Everyone: 32 bar cut (about 1:00-1:30 minutes) of a musical theatre or rock/pop song that fits the style of the show and best showcases your vocal and acting abilities. Singing from the show is allowed. We’ll have a Bluetooth speaker. Bring a device that can connect and make sure your track is instrumental only (no backing vocals). No a capella auditions. 

• Everyone: Please bring a headshot and resume if you have them. The audition form is available here if you would like to complete it in advance: Audition Form Copies will also be available at the audition. All conflicts must be disclosed at the time of your audition. 

• If auditioning for the roles of DEWEY, ZACH, LAWRENCE, KATIE, or FREDDIE you must submit a 1 minute video of you playing your instrument (guitar / bass / drums / keys) BEFORE your scheduled audition. Please email your video to schoolofrocklsc@gmail.com 

• Adults: be prepared to read from the script. Audition sides can be reviewed here: Audition Sides

• Kids: you will participate in a dance call. Please watch the choreo video and practice ahead of time. The choreo video will be posted soon. Wear comfortable, appropriate clothing and shoes you can move in.
